I ment the pioneer was half the price of the alpine.

This is an attempt to get a group buy together for an ALPINE INA-W910. If you all do not want an ALPINE INA-W910, create your own group buy for the Pioneer unit. Sorry, but the OP has put a lot of time and effort in getting this together and I am sure he doesn't want to hear about your needs for a Pioneer unit.

We are offering suggestions to the OP. The alpine unit looks great. But not everybody is willing to shell out that much money for features they do not want. It may be easier to get more people on board if you did it for the pioneer unit. Not knocking the time and effort that has been put into putting this together. I'm glad somebody does it because I would have no idea where to start in organizing a GB. If you can't get enough people on board to get this buy going on the Alpine units, the Pioneer AVH-4300DVD is a good alternative. Good luck with the buy OP.

The AVH-4300dvd is not a good alternative for people like me, the OP and others who are interested in the alpine ina-1910, since it is not capable of navigation.

Do you own an iphone? There is a $2 app that gives you navigation. Or you can buy the navigation module from pioneer and it gives you nav that is better than the apple app.

I also agree that while this is a GB for the Alpine, a little discussion is okay, that's why it's a forurm. It's good to know what one is getting for $875. That is a chunk of change for sure!

Thread started for the Pioneer unit: Please comment here...
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/audio-video/193625-pioneer-avh-4300dvd.html#post4208673

FYI: To add the Nav unit to the Pioneer, Crutchfield has three add-on Nav units and they're priced from $360-$399. OMG!! This Alpine unit suddenly looks a lot better priced!

Droid fan here, dont think I will ever get a iphone. Its ok to throw another headunit out there in this thread, maybe one that is equal to the alpine to be fair. There are tons of threads in the audio/video section comparing head units so no need to bring that into the OPs gb for the alpine.

Yep, discussion is good. Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to get that Alpine. Looks like an awesome unit and I know the nav is going to be better than what the Pioneer can do. I'm just a poor, freezing, starving college student still so I can't justify spending that much money. :D

Have you tried driving in bumper to bumper traffic in Charlotte, NC ( I can only imagine how major cities traffic is) using an iPhone for navigation. Not safe at all. I prefer to use a 7" screen placed in front of me to where I can look at it without having to squint and still be able to keep my eye on the road.

I don't even have an iPhone in the first place nor plan on getting one since my company gives out HTC smart phones for free.

The iPhone plugs into the pioneer and you download the motionX GPS app and it displays it on the 7'' screen. But yes, I know what you mean. Using your small phone screen would suck hardcore.

But I think you still need to enter address and coordinates on the phone before the map shows up in the HU. And for the Pioneer addon nav unit the reviews are poor. Again the Alpine is looking better if you want a true GPS not Internet GPS.

I personally have the 4300dvd and i love it screen clarity and quality is awesome. It's pretty much all personal preference i've always had pioneer just as the models get newer I upgrade. They just keep getting better and better. And for the price its well worth it.

If you guys want a 4300 DVD GB let me know and I'll help you guys out on that one as well.

Yeah, go for it, please. I'd like to see what kind of pricing you could do.
