I am up in the air between a Short box vs. Long Box. I watched a review on youtube that basically said the DC LB was a complete pain to drive around town and park. What are your experiences with your long bed? Do wish you would have gotten the Short Bed?

NO!! I love my Long Bed and the extra room in it. From bikes to snowboards it's just nice to have the extra foot. And I like the way it looks!!:D You get used to the length pretty fast. The only down side for me, couldn't get the 6sp manual

If I got a DC I'd get a long bed for sure

As with any vehicle you get use to driving it once you own it, the question is what do you need in a truck?
Do you have a significant need for a long bed truck or can you manage with a short or standard bed?

For example..I can squeeze my quad and gear into a short bed, but I have to keep the gate down. It fits better in a long bed, but they are not readily available here and I was not going to special order. So I manage with a short bed, I make it work.

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock

It's not the size that matters, but the way you use it....

    That's what he said ;)

The LB looks and with 14.5 more inches of wheelbase, rides much better than the SB.
    Is it tougher to park?
    Yeah but worth it.
I can't see where it's harder to drive around town.

i would be up the creek without a longbed. the shortbeds are nice but just not enough room for my uses. as far as parking and maneuvering, My last truck was a 3/4ton crewcab short bed diesel so i absolutely love driving the dc longbed taco!

I wouldn't of even considered the Taco if it only came with a short bed, the LB looks better and if you carry dirt bikes or any kind of load at all you pretty much need it.

I would not own a Tacoma if the DC wasn't available in a LB.

Either Road & Track, or Motor Trend did a story on the DB long bed a while back. They did mention in the article that the long bed was a beast to park. That being said, myself I would go with the long bed. That's how you come up with a dented & scratched tailgate by rolling around with your tailgate down. Did it once for 3 miles, never again!

I love my DC LB! The only downside i see in it is if your tryin to go long travel, i think you'd be better off with a SB. And like everyone else has said you'll get used to the parking, which really isnt that bad. I went from my daily driven Jeep Wrangler to the DC LB and had no issues adjusting. But which ever way you go , you cant go wrong!

I love my DC LB!! Yes it's long, just as long as an Avalanche.. But it's still easy to drive. you get used to the extra length after a while. I'll admit the shorter box looks neater but I like the versatility of the longer bed. I also think the extra length makes it easier for towing.

Sometimes I wish we had a longer box. The tailgate won't close with the boys go kart in it, so we take the '96 Taco to the track. But the Ol' Lady absolutely will not drive an automatic, so short box it is. They're better off road too!
