    Hey guys,
I'm looking to buy new speakers for my dad's 2002 extended cab Taco. Since it's for his birthday I have to research secretly, but i haven't the slightest idea on what to look for. I want good quality speakers that are decently priced. Hoping to find something within the $200 range. Any links or info you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! ;)

I have Rockford Fosgate component speakers in the front and the old MB Court (when they were made in Germany) component speakers in the back. the Rockford Fosgate were to big so i used longer screws. The back was not hitting any thing but the metal basket was it dose not effect it in any way. I also trimmed the door panel a little just to be safe. I mounted the tweets above them (on the fake blue leather) and it sounds awesome. Tweets on the MB court speakers are in the speakers. You don't need component speakers in the rear i got them for free. But if he dose not have a head unit get him that first.

For Speakers I would recommend a set of 6x9's. I don't really have a recommended brand, just get a name brand. If you want to look into subs I have mine set up with a set of 8's in the cubby holes below the jumpseats. all you have to do is cut some plywood peices to fit the holes and seal them with some weather stripping and fasten them with some 1/4 speednuts and machine screws. Mine is an xtra cab. idk if it'll work w/ a double cab or not. I still use my jumpseats and it works well.

If you replace the speakers, you wont really get that great of sound without a updated head-unit.
