Stock ride height, 265/70/17

Guys,

Just wondering if anyone's running 265/70/17 on their TRD doublecab's with no lift.

My dealer's offering me a very good deal on a set of BFG A/T's for the taco and just wondering what it would look like. pics would help!

 

I just bought a set of 265/65/17 and you're right the 70 series tires are cheaper. I don't know why....You can mount the 70 series on the stock 17 inch rim but you will need to use a wheel spacer.

 

Wigs,that is the setup I'm running....265/70/17's,no lift.IMHO it looks great,fills the wells nicely and requires no alterations.Check my profile pics,but tomorrow I'll try to get a straight on side shot for reference.

 

265/70/17's should fit great

 

Here's my 265/70/17 Bridgestone Revos with no lift. My speedometer is now dead on with my GPS speed too. Also, no spacer is needed or any other modification for this tire size.

265/70/17 stock height, but not stock wheels.

 

The only minor difference between stock size and 70 series. .
Speedometer Difference: 3.403% too slow.
You'll lose 2 MPH on the speedo at 60 you'll be going 58.
I'm sorry I didn't go with 70 series when I upgraded my tires.

 

My speedo was off with the stock 65s. I was going slower than the speedo said by a couple mph. With the 70s it is the exact same as my GPS speed. (70mph on speedo = 70mph on gps)

same here, i run 265/70/17 and now my speedo is dead on now. also tires are a lot cheaper for the 70 series. i am using the dunlop rovers. i got a good deal at canadian tire

I'm runnin 265/75/16 Kumho Road Venture AT's. The ones in the pic are Cooper Discoverer ATR. had to level the front end and take the mud flaps off the front to stop tire rub.

I'm thinking of going with the toyo open country a/t's now. I drove buddy's trucks last night who have the BFG's and the Toyo's (both Mitsubishi Pajero's) and the toyo's are much nicer

hey guys,
any noticeable power loss with the bigger tire?
Around town as well as climbing hills on the interstate? Right now my DC Sport doesn't downshift up some interstate hills that my 03 TRD used to. I don't want to go back to that by getting slightly bigger tires.

 

Just mounted ATX mojaves and BFG ATs 265/70/17. I'm in a 4x4 access cab non TRD, stock suspension. Looks great and no rubbing, did I mention looks great? Alot better than the steelies and 245s.

 

Sluggish now? Any power loss?

 

No power loss noticeable...just a barely noticeable hum from the tires.

BTW if you're referring to power loss from heavy 10 ply tires, I got the load range C's. I wanted ATs in a C, so had to jump up to a 17" wheel.
