    Damn you guys must have read my mind! I was just thinking 'I wonder when the U joints were lubed last?" today, as I usually do all my own oil changes and cant recall doing recently(like they might've gone 15-20k miles :eek:). Going to do an oil change tomorrow, so looks like I'll have to grease things up while im at it! :cool:

    sometimes the little ball valve in the zerk freezes up. Try holding the fitting firmly while pumping it in and usually they'll break loose, or try poking the ball with a screw driver to free it before pumping the grease in.

    When I did mine a few were tough to pump grease into. I just kept pressure on the zerk until it started pumping in. I got the pump to actually click onto a few of the zerks, too.

    On a side note, do you guys wipe up all the grease that comes out of the joints? I tried to do it with some rags but I still ended up with a crap load of grease splattered on the underside of the truck.

    Yeah, you want the grease to go into the fitting in through to the bearing caps and start to come out the bearing caps. Even if you can't see it happening, you can hear it, it makes a sort of a soft poping/farting sound when the old grease starts to come out of the bearing cap. :eek:

    You might try adjusting the grease gun tip so that it barely fits onto the zirk fitting. If its too loose, the grease may leak past the tip instead of going into the zirk. The tip on the gun should be adjustable by turning it.

    Not sure I like the orange. Thought it would be more unique than just red but I think I might redo it with red. Gonna do calipers & drums too when I do my brakes. Gotta figure out which color the emblems gonna be first so it matches. What do y'all think? I kinda like it but sometimes I think red would look better. I dunno, help me out.

    I run fittingless ujoints. Seems i lose the fittings anyways. That may be the case.

    If its cold where the paint is drying it can double or triple or the drying time or even never dry.
    To test this if you want to save your paint roller for the next day toss it in a plastic bag and chuck it in the freezer will still be wet and useable in the morning:D

    you'll need to let it dry for around 3 days i bet. Id let it cure another day before another coat. You doing some clear too?

    Couple of guidelines for paint:

    1. Paint only sticks to one thing: primer (or a lightly sanded previous coat of paint that is sound)
    2. Paint at the correct temperture and humidity ranges provided on the can.
    3. Multiple light coats. You don't want heavy costs because the outside cures before the inside.

    I don't even bother trying to paint stuff during winter, mainly because I have a detached garage without temp control or insulation. Note to self: Next house, 3-car garage fully insulated and temp controlled. With bathroom. And a kitchenette. And a bed.
