Original ipod Nano recalled in US

A lot of companies wait until after lawsuits or the government makes them issue a recall. I'm no fanboy, but it seems like they're being proactive.

 

I agree. I like seeing a company be proactive when it comes to their product not functioning correctly. Too many of them wait until forced, because it's all about the dolla!!

 

a lot of companies arent as big as apple either....they would get their pants ripped off in a lawsuit.

 

Wait, who's pants? Apple or the other companies? My point was that other companies seem to be more willing to absorb a few lawsuits before doing anything.

 

apple would, you know if it was made into a lawsuit that person would sue them for crazy money.

 

Now I understand why you are angry it may be a refurb ... It hurts your ability to flip it for a quick buck. Money hungry. Sheesh

 

umm....no, i said i was going to sell it to someone that wants one, for less than the price of a new one,(helping them out) and use that to go towards an upgrade.

and i didnt get that idea till i saw the members post mentioning they might be in the market for one, i figured it would be nice to help him get a new one for cheaper since its a product i dont want.

 

They are replacing with new, not refurbs. On that note how do you wipe an ipod clean?

 

where is your info coming from? im getting a mixture of answers.

reset it... i think that will take care of it. toggle the hold switch on and off and the simulatinously hold the center button and the top of the menu button until the apple appears...

i cant remember if that one wipes it clean or not, but you can try

Oh, you just connect it to your pc and click restore when the window pops up

 

When did the refurb talk start? I get my envelope tomorrow according to ups. If it's ran over I'm calling apple and asking what's up.

 

Read that the reason they are sending the cheap envelops for you to return your ipod in is that they are going straight to a landfill...no checking the ipod for battery failure, etc. They are just sending out new 6th gen nanos if your serial # matches their list.

 

those things cant go in landfills...i guess mine is supposed to be defective then...

i dunno since i dont have one yet, i would assume you type the serial number on the back of the ipod into apple and the info should come up about it.

they arent supposed to either, but lets not get started on that one, i stayed away from that thread for a reason...now

electronics cant go into landfills, because of all the stuff in them, such as the battery, its not good for the soil when that crap starts leaking and corroading, but noone really gives a s*** about that stuff anymore, they just rather trash everything and let other people deal with it.
