I needed to get into a vehicle quickly as a result of an accident totalling my Honda CRV. Leased a 2011 Tacoma 4WD, Dbl cab w/towing pkg, auto. After driving it for 4300 miles, I have mixed emotions about my 1st Toyota PK. I can't believe it doesn't have intermittent wipers. I'm spoiled with outside window defoggers, which I now don't have. Every time I buckle my seatbelt I hit the console handle and open it. I can't figure out why I hit my head on the top of the door jamb every time I get in, unless I lean to the side. Ergonomics were not part of the engineering game plan. For the price it should have power driver's seat. The power driver's window goes all the way down with one push of the button, but not up. Hmmm! I mentioned all this to the service tech last Sat when I took it in for its 5K service and all I got was, boy you're just a mess in there aren't you? Otherwise, I really like the truck. No wonder the lease was so cheap. I certainly wouldn't have purchased it. Maybe I'm just a complainer or better yet, spoiled by Honda and Hyundai.

You did a horrible job researching and now come here to vent that you weren't smart enough to get what you wanted

BTW you leased a truck and as far as I know Honda and Hyndai don't make or market trucks in the US.

Wah wah Sounds like you would be better off in a Prius.

Hi Jerry and welcome to TW.

Just remember something. That Tacoma isn't a CRV and the CRV isn't a Lexus. In other words, these are different vehicles you are comparing and maybe this truck just isn't for you. If you wanted a larger, luxury truck type thing perhaps a more indepth search may grant you better results. Cadillac might have something up your alley. But be prepared for repair bills.

And one more question: What result were you looking for when you told the tech about your observations?

Honda makes a truck, The Ridgeline. It's a POS but technically, it is a truck.

Welcome to the site. Sorry you didn't have time to discover these issues prior to your purchase.

Other than the auto down (and up) window I don't feel your pain but, I would not even call that a design flaw so I wouldn't expect anyone, at Toyota or not, to feel for you.

Again, sorry you're not 100% happy.

If a Ridgeline is a "truck" then I'm the Pope. That's like calling a SUV a truck.

Most manufactures don't do auto window up for safety reasons. I mean really, is it that big of a deal to hold the switch for the 9 seconds it takes to roll up the window?

Not in my world. Would you put a spare tire under the bed of a truck? No - that's where they go in cars.

Im pretty sure you can lease most vehicles really cheap. And from the sound of it you got the base model (no interm wipers, unpainted fender flares)?

Lawdy lawdy. Those people with crank windows are going to find themselves in an accident one day. Almost akin to texting!

and insurance calls my Ford Explorer a 4wd station wagon. I'm talking about the real world and in it the Ridegline is not a truck. Next we will be debating if a el camino was a car or truck

On a Ridegline the spare is literally under a door in the bed. So if you get a flat with a bed full of stuff you have to empty your bed to get to it.

Try throwing a skid of bricks in the bed and going for a drive.
