Cap in the winter, to give me places to keep shet dry, and naked in the summer - a place for the dog to sleep during the day :)

I had a toolbox in my first truck.

On the next one I had a cap and didn't like what it did to visibility.

On the Tacoma I put an Undercover tonneau on it. Loved the visibility and water protection but after 4 years it developed cracks at the hinges and I had to take it off before it flew off on the freeway and killed somebody. I didn't like that it had to be removed to put in anything tall (like the gas cans we use a lot of on our tree farm) and, although it isn't all that heavy, it's cumbersome to remove by one person. I got tired of doing that once or twice a month. The locks also became a PIA after awhile, even with nothing in the bed they had to be locked otherwise they would spontaneously unlatch on bumpy roads.

So now I think the best solution *for me* is a toolbox.

I voted hard cap, as I want to add one to my truck when some funds are available. Much easier to transport gear and guns safely and out of the weather.

On my previous Ram I had a hard shell, it was great for hiding/locking things but it had limits, like hauling taller objects.

I decided to go with a folding Tonneau this time and I'm glad I did. First, it still looks like a pickup and not an SUV. Neither is bad, just wanted to keep the pickup look this time.

With the tonneau, I can hide things from wandering eyes. Outta sight, out of mind. Also, it folds up in seconds, allowing me to carry things recently like snow throwers , toys for tots collection boxes etc.

Plus, it's fun, every time I walk by it I thump it like a drum. Also, it's a handy place to rest objects while getting in or out of the truck. For me, the tonneau is the most versatile of all options. Rain/snow protection, theft deterrent and quick folding or removal for hauling sheet.

A retractable/folding hard tonneau cover for me, that comes off completely in like 20 seconds by myself(which gives me FULL access still to the bed instead of having the canister in the way still like other brands). Gives me protection from the elements, still allows me to use my utilitrak system(with it in the closed position), and has 2 deadbolts to go a long with my locking tailgate.

It's a Peragon bed cover, it's like the best of both worlds the only thing that beats it is a camper shell because it allows you more storage space vertically.

I highly suggest checking it out, their customer service is phenomenal as well and they are located and made right here in the US.

We have a Bak Flip on a Tundra and love it. You can have any portion of the bed open that you want. It's very convenient

Type in Tacoma into their website: "Alas, we don't make it! We regret to inform you that we currently don't offer a bed cover for your truck model. This may be due to general lack of demand or other factors outside of our control."

Settle down spaz, yes I own a Frontier, but that is because Ive traded my 01 Taco(never knew about this forum till now, found out from a friend at work) in on it. I like browsing forums and I STILL love Taco's, just dont own one currently, this is a public forum, and I like to stay in the know since I dont own one right now(but have every intention to buy another when the time comes).

As far as the Peragon bed cover, I did not know they didnt make it for Tacoma's, that'd be interesting to find out exactly why, because Tacos outsell Frontiers like crazy, so I would think it is demand thats the issue.. Id say maybe its the polymer bed, but they dont even make it for 95-04's.. Im going to call them on Monday and ask as now Im curious as well and post the reason if anyone even cares..

I really like the Roll-N-Lock but it's expensive. The Paragon cover really had me sold. I watch their video and think, a little dramatic for a bed cover but a nice product. For the price I'm thinking this is "the best I've seen". I go to order one and find the message that they don't make one. How can there be a "general lack of demand or other factors outside of our control"? They're the manufacturer! Just design and build the darn thing.
