In the states you call Bourbon whiskey, in Canada we call Rye whiskey and in Scotland they call Scotch whiskey!

Actually, true Scotch Whisky should be the only whisky that doesn't have an "e" in it. Jameson (Irish) spells it Whiskey, for instance. Irish, Canadian, American, etc. use "Whiskey" except for a few distilleries that want to be different or cute.

Islay single malts are my favorites. If I had to drink one for the rest of my life, it would perhaps be Laphroaig, though Ardbeg, Talisker, Lagavulin, Oban, etc. are all great.

For a bottle under $45, check out Laphroaig Quarter Cask. It's not a single malt but it's an amazing expression of islay salt/iodine/peat smoke but with some sweeter notes as well.

Southern comfort isn't a whiskey either, it's also a liqueur.

Liqueur = neutral spirits (think 190 proof Everclear) diluted and sugary sweet stuff added.

The one thing all the different whiskeys have in common is 100% grain: corn, rye, wheat, and barley.

Southern Comfort is made with whatever is cheap, like vodka.

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
False, whiskey is a grain alcohol, how/wh ere it is made affect the other. Bourbon is only whiskey distilled in Bourbon County KY,with water from a particular river. Scotch and Canadian whiskeys are blends, but they can be from anywhere, Scotch distills quite differently.

Definitely. My favorite though is Buffalo Trace. Never found it in Arkansas though.

False, Bourbon does not have to be from Bourbon County, or a particular river.

Scotch can be blended but a single malt Scotch is not a blend and whiskey labeled as Scotch must be made in Scotland, and all Canadian whiskey has to be made in Canada.
