help choosing after market headlights!

hey everyone, i have a 2005 tacoma trd off road.. its an indigo ink access cab with a chrome polished carriage works billet grille, both top center and bumper grille. both of my headlights recently accumulated condensation in them and im currently looking into after market ones. i have been looking at the spyder halo lights but i am worried that they wont be as bright as they appear to be. so far they are my favorite when it comes to looks, but im just having a hard time choosing between the black housing, the chrome housing, or the smoked lense. i just joined the forum and havent gotten a chance to post pictures of my truck but im hoping that i can get some feed back or opinions. thanks xo

idk what color they are but, if i where you i would stick with depot brand housings they make a black bezel and tinted like found on the sport model and plain old chrome.

depot brand is the best quality aftermarket headlight housing your going to find man. tyc is ok as well if i where you i would try sourcing the lights from Amazon as they seem to stock good quality lights as opposed to ebay where its a crap shoot.

 

The consensus around here seems to be stick with the stock lights. If you want upgrades in light output, retrofit the stock housings with HID.

I would love to have an aftermarket glass and metal housing to put overwattage bulbs in but it does not exist. I am thinking of exploring the HID option since other members on here say it can be done without becoming "that asshole with the piss ass bright glaring lights".

 

HID's thrown into a stock housing can be acheived without that 'becoming that asshole' but you have to aim them down so far it's not really worth it. If you want HID's, get projectors.

Agreed on the stock housings being the best. Your best bet would be to open them up and reseal them. You can paint the bezels whatever color you wish while you're in there.

 

one thing that worries me is that the black bezels or smoked lense will look weird with the chrome grille.. any opinions on that? I prefer to get them over the clear lenses
