LED for grond light!!!!!!!!

2009 DC trd off rd. I was wondering if any have done or tryed this before. I am thinking of putting sum light on the ground. Useing (4) 3.6v max power. White LED one for each door to shed sum light on the ground. I want the lights to power on and power off when doors are unlocked and doors are open. so when you use the keyless remot to unlock the doors they come on like the dome light and off like the dome light. SO do anyone know how to get power from dome to the LEDs?? Any one know???????? thank you for your time.

 

It's pretty simple to get power from your dome light. The dome light supplies a positive charge through the wires and it is grounded by the truck's body so which the dome light is screwed into the the top of the truck cab. So, tap off those wires add make the ground connection for the LEDs to the truck's body or frame.

So I had to run one wire from ground side and one going to the white wire from the dome light. I tried the blue and white/black and was always powered on. I also tried the other blue wire and then with the blue wire and it would stay on all the time eventhough one thread said it would be automatic but no go. Just go with ground side on dome and white wire for + and you should be good. I did white LEDs by adding 194 bulbs instead of strips. Will add pcs in a bit.

 

Just bought these strips. There really bright. Im wirring them to a switch. Theres going to be lights on both drivers and passengers side and in the front consel, under the ac control.

Where I bought them from in Vancouver. $24 for 4 ft. They are the WLFS. If you look inbetween the LED's in the picture theres 4 yellow dots. It gets cut between the 2 and thoes are where your wires get soldered. Im doing mine this weekend, will do a how to.

I should have also mentioned that I have the Map Lights on with dome light mod found here http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/1898180-post158.html or here http://www.customtacos.com/forum/showthread.php?t=95608. That is how I was able to attach a ground wire from the end of the dome light and used the WHITE wire to get power to the lights also. They look amazing in real time so hopefully this helped. When I finished this it felt great since it took about three hours to figure this out on my side.

 

i put leds in my door handles. the handles are chrome so sort of acts like a reflective housing somewhat.the leds have ribbon wire that i fed through the handle and attached power from the courtesy lights on the inside of the door on my 2000 tacoma.

 

The first pic shows what I did but I was trying to do the one you show second but the info I got was incorrect so just went the two wire way. I will also be adding lights to the backseat so that should be simple now that I have the front set up.
