Glasspacks, Straight pipe, or Aero turbine?

Okay so I'm looking at getting a new exhaust on my 07 4.0 access cab. I've been looking at different set ups and can't seem to make up my mind.

I want something loud, with a nice growl to it. So my first idea was to put an aero turbine muffler on and call it quits, but then I thought about getting dual glass packs and cracking the glass and go that route, but then I heard straight pipes... Need less to say that sounded great..

Just looking for suggestions and input on my ideas...

 

FM sounds good only up to 2500 rmps. I have heard Borla makes a good muffler. Magnaflow is a good products as well.

Aero Turbine sounds good IMO. Sounds pretty beefy for a v6.

 

If you want loud you can add the Flowmaster 10 series to your list also.

 

Im not sure you understand what a glasspack muffler is..

 

either way. If you are wanting to be louder than glasspacks you should just straight pipe.

Tho I dont recommend it unless you enjoy sounding like a pissed off bumble bee

 

Glasspacks sound like horrible on these V6 engines. My suggestion is go with an AT and be done with it.

 

I have 3" pipes and a single Thrush on my truck and it sounds fantastic. I dont like the loud obnoxious roar that some of these pos trucks have around here. I also have a afe cai and with this combonation it sounds fantastic.

 

im planning to get the aero turbine 2525xl, nice growl to it w/o being too loud. its all personal preference tho... get what you like

 

I have a straight pipe.....if you really want to call it that...all the resonators/cats are still on there.

 

I had heard something about heating up the glasspack and dunking it in water?.. Was I wrongly informed or did I miss understand them..

And I think I might be going with the aero turbine muffler...

 

Aero turbine 2525 here... It's loud enough for attention but not annoying.. Just don't get the 2525xl cause the do is resonated so it not as loud as a 2525

 

I've got the 3.4 V6 glasspacked, and it sounds great. Awesome idle. A straight pipe is too loud where I live.

To the OP - Straight pipe it.

Let me add this was well: After I threw a glasspack on, a neighbor stopped me and asked when was I going to fix the muffler. I told em it was already fixed.

 

Maybe it's just me but glasspacks are never an option, on any engine. They are the cheap redneck version of a muffler. Loud popping noises are not a sound of beauty. But that's just my opinion. You have a nice truck, why not put quality parts on it. The Gibson and borla stuff is nice but it's not very loud.

I personally wouldn't get anything over a Flowmaster 40. Even those are pretty loud and they will give you a bad in cab drone at certain rpm's.

A glasspack is a quality part. It's been around for decades and has proven itself.

It's a truck. It should be treated like one. Installing a more expensive muffler like the AT is like putting fake flames on a lamborghini.
