Good lookin truck! I'm diggin the bed lights

 

did you wire your setup like what is posted on the cheap DIY mods? Can you post pictures of where you post the pics. How does it turn on? just by a switch? or does it turn on and off like when you open your doors?

The lights just turn on by the switch I mounted in the lockable storage compartment in the bed.

Looks sharp. I used the same lights in the the same spots. I bought my lights at Harbor Freight Tools for $9.99. I wired my switch to the front cab. I like being able to flip it on to check on a load with out getting out.

 

i mainly put mine in the back for when we come back from surfing late. It makes it easy to flip the switch, load the boards, and get on our way. Ive been debating moving the switch or maybe having one in the cab, one in the bed ran in line.. but i'm lazy too.

 

you should do a 3 way switch.

 

on, off, and strobe..haha

I'm using your post right now. I used the lights the original poster in this thread bought and goin by your instructions lol. I'm a little worried about the wires not being long enough. Got the lights mounted in the cubby holes, fixing to mount the switch, then the wiring begins. wish me luck lol

 

Hey how did you run the wires from the lights to connect to each other? The way it looks for me right now....theres no way these wires will work like they are

 

I had to extend the wire and I ran it almost straight across, bringing the wire pretty close to the area where the spare tire is, but keeping it close to the bed.

 

thats exactly how i did it. just kept it taught and didnt even need to use zip ties

 

looks great. im stealing the foglight location.

 

Do the mod. If I can do it with my wife, anyone with any automotive skills can do it easily. The sticky is perfect.
