I'm glad you guys are safe. Forget about the damage of your loving Tacoma for now . Time to check more of yourselves . Have every part of your body be checked in the E.R. It so hard when you don't declare the pain then after couple of weeks, it manifest really bad.... Merry Christmas to you and your fiancee..

glad you all are ok! poor taco!

and this is why i hardly ever get closer than about 3 or 4 feet from the back of the car/truck in front of me at a red light. if i was to get hit i don’t want to hit the car in front of me. and i always try and plain an exit if someone dose just come flying up on me. i know you can’t always move. but still try and plain for it.

The kid that hit me didn't have insurance either. You will pay your deductible and your insurance co will sue the other driver. It cost over 20k to repair mine, but it was only a year old and my insurance would not total. Insist it goes to the dealer or Jack Hart in Radcliff.

He seemed a ok, went to jail though.

Demolished the entire front of his van though, DEMOLISHED his radiator.

That did kinda make me grin.

The police officer came up and said hey you ok and I said hi....

    She said.... Hi?

I said this is my dream truck, she frowned.

    Merry Christmas though we're ALIVE!!!

Seriously though merry Christmas to everyone and your family hug them..

Yeah I think even if I could have moved I wouldn't have considering my mom and fam was directly infront of me....

I think if they would have been hit it would have been BAD

Yeah, mine is a 2006 with almost 60k (not even close to being broke in).....

I might puke if they total it but I'll understand....

Looks like the frame has been Diamond'd, nothing a frame machine won't fix. IMO, it faired well considering and looks as if Toyota's design on the crush points works flawlessly!

Glad y'all are okay! Too bad you don't have your sleigh for Christmas!

Glad you're OK and the person responsible is in jail. Accidents happen but an uninsured DUI driver deserves a long time away from freedom.

Glad your not dead man! My wife was rear ended at a stoplight about a month ago by some ditzy teenage girl texting and driving. Hit the tacoma at about 25-30mph and like you I had the tow hitch in the receiver, her dodge durango was completely disabled with antifreeze spewing out my tacoma didn't have a scratch on it. We told her insurance co. That our truck had no damage and they still cut us a check for $700!

Glad your family is ok. Youll get a new tacoma :) Remember you can replace a truck, You cant replace a family. :) Youve got someone lookin down at ya.

sounds like a similar case to the OP. when I got in my accident in my old car the lady that hit me didn't call her insurance for almost a week after the accident. However I called mine as soon as I got home and my insurance paid for a rental car for the duration it took to fix it and then basically sued her insurance for the cost of damage and rental. Reguardless you'll be fine. Depending on the status of the person that hit you either your insurance will sue him or (atleast in VT) joe taxpayer might take the hit.

ps. even if its totaled see about trying to keep as much of the truck as you can. When my uncle totaled his taco (not his fault) he got an insurance settlement and it was ~5k more than a new taco was going to cost him and so it "bought" his wrecked taco back and uses it as a farm beater now.

The hitch's are amazing strong I had one on an MGB got rear ended by a full size Chevy it had to be towed and I drove home. You got a lot of bent stuff not sure a frame shop can pull the frame horns good luck with it.
