I got the new truck last night !!

    08' X-Runner in Black.

I went to a local dealer that I knew had a red one in stock planning just to try to test drive it. An insider of Toyota( friend from another forum ) e-mailed me about the black one comming into stock on 12/20 but it arrived earlier than planned. I took it out for a ride with my wife and it only had 4 miles on it. When we got back we sat down with the sales guy and then with his boss and worked out a fair deal for the truck. It had the Toyo-Group package for $699- which I didn't want, but it did have the tinted windows, and the LED interior lightning which I did want. We never spoke about a trade in untill after the negotiations went through. I didn't drive the offered trade in to the dealership, so they purposely didn't have anything to look at. I came back with the S-10 after I removed a few items and reprogrammed the computer back to stock. The manager looked the truck over at night, and not in good light and then we proceeded back inside where he made me an offer on the trade in. It's was a little low but we had agreed that the dealer fees of $699 would not be charged and instead put on top of the trade in value of the S-10. It ended up being $300 below the bluebook value but I was more than happy with that number.

Anyway,,, I got the truck with the options listed above plus a free bed mat and the tailgate spoiler for $24,200. List was 26,100. Mayby not the best deal but not bad at all. I had found out from the insider at Toyota that the dealer made very little overall on the deal, but at least they moved a truck when sales are slow. I'll post a pic or 2 when I can. I already installed the Sirus in a really trick method by placing the reciever in the overhead console. I think that the spot I installed it in was for a garage door opener or something. I still have free use of the sunglasses holder.

I've got a lot of getting used to with this truck versus where I came from but I like it more and more each hour it seems. :)

Congrats! It sounds like a very nice truck. I am not very familiar with the X-Runners. They seem to be very rare around here. I would like to test drive one sometime. Post some pics into the gallery when you get a chance.

I'll post pics as soon as I can. It may take the dealer a week+ to get the spoiler into stock.

I didn't even take any pics yet because yesterday the truck got rained on bigtime and I haven't had a chance to clean it yet. Damm that black shows EVERYTHING !

Tailgate spoiler!!!??? That's cool! Sure beats those ones on the big dodge which are possibly the most un-handy device I've seen lately.Do you know the list price of these units?(nice truck - looks good in black)
