    I have this one:

    TRDshiftknob_7544dea3153357b3ba7e155612ae6bbe486f40b9.gif

When I bought my '99 back in July, one of the first things I noticed is that the OEM shift knob had been used enough (144k miles worth) that the leather had been polished and had a very "slick" feeling to it. Didn't like that. Ordered the version seen above off of eBay for a very reasonable price. It took forever to get here, as the seller shipped it directly from Thailand.

It has a nice, rugged, leather feel to it. Much better than the old OEM one that was in there. I definitely recommend it.

During my search I was told by a few different sources that the TRD shift knob is no longer manufactured. So, if you want to move on it, I'd recommend moving quickly, as there aren't many left. The Toyota part # is PTR04-00000-05.

$27 + shipping, which IIRC, was like $10. Again, it came from Thailand, and took a long, long time to get here. Something like 3 weeks. I spent quite a while searching for dealers in the Continental US that had them. I was able to find a dealer that had 2 left in stock, but only after I'd ordered it from the guy on eBay. I'd tell you which dealer it was, if I could remember :(

Looking back, I'm glad I bought it from the eBay seller. There are some pretty obvious "fake" versions of the genuine Toyota TRD shift knob out there. Based on what I saw, any of them that had red stitching didn't appear to be OEM quality.

Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions about the shift knob I bought.

quick retarded question, do these simply unscrew from the shifter? Tried loosening mine and it's really on there, didn't want to go all Hulk on it if I missed a set screw or something.

I found one in an old cellica at a junk yard, it didn't fit though so I had to do some modifications to make it work. I ended up hating it though and went back to stock. It was too tall.

That's a great looking knob. I think it's been asked in other/earlier threads, but does anyone know if they make/made a matching knob for the 2WD/4WD stick?

Im running the Cobb shift knob from my Subaru Legacy GT, on my 01. Threaded right on there. If only the shift boot was a little bit longer to catch the lip of the knob... the 6spd version would probably be better since it has no lip.
