Ok so this dealership over here in good OL' Las Vegas has this tacoma that's lifted w/ 33 x 12.5 x 17's... I checked it out and it's got a spacer lift and maybe an AAL in the rear... I couldn't tell if there's a wheel spacer installed or not but i'm assuming so... How did they fit those tires with out cutting anything?

Not only that but if they have those wheels and tires on from the dealership then that means they will still be covered under warranty. With 33's should they have changed the gears? If not then wouldn't that cause premature wear on the drive train?

Well I dont know if you will know if they really 'fit' them until you drive it and find out if it rubs anywhere

It is probably at one of the Towbin Dealerships where the "CHOPPER" is the king of doing stuff like that. I have not lived there in 5 years but that is what I remember.

That is similar to what a dealer did here in NC. The truck had a 3" Procomp lift and 305/60/18. I am still puzzeled as to how they "fit".

There is a dealer in Lewiston Idaho that does something similar.

Not sure what the tire size is though.

It was at Centennial Toyota here in the North West side. I didn't drive it but I saw that someone had cause it was gone for a lil while then back again... I'm assuming they didn't do any full on U turns but either way... I looked up close and didn't see any spots of rubbing... Funny thing was, they were asking 42K!!!!!!! And this is what I saw as far as "add ons"... Spacer lift and maybe an AAL in the rear, 33x12.5x17 tires, Eagle wheels, (not sure if it was ARB) but aftermarket front and rear bumper with spare tire behind the Tailgate... That was about it.. on a 2011 TRD 4x4

    Im getting there......
If the bumpers were indeed arb that price actually isn't astronomical for a dealership to ask given that an art kit would put you out about 4k and the wheels and tires another 1.5k....the lift at most 0.5k......

assuming it was originally a truck (fully loaded 4x4 trd) selling for toyotas quote 36k thats about 42k total obviously a rip off still but logical in terms of dealer pricing

My dealer where I got my truck sells them like that all the time, even tundras.

They do use a real lift new shocks/springs + AAL + shocks in the rear:

Cuttin' ain't necessary...but it will definitely rub over bumps :D

Gearing would help but is not absolutely necessary - these trucks are geared relatively low and have relatively powerful engines for daily drivers from factory.

As for early drivetrain wear - not enough that it would matter.

DSI is 4 wheel parts commercial sales department. That are no better about warranty than 4wheel parts themselves and I'm not sure if every dealer does it but we looked at a lifted f-350 but bough a stock one when reading he paperwork the dealer had from dsi stating that there mods to be treated as aftermarket and after sale no matter what the time of install and that the dealership selling a vehicle with dsi mods can not perform any warranty work of any kind and all claims must be sent directly to dsi from the purchaser not the dealer. Sounded about like the only experience I had with 4wp retail sales so I left it alone and bought a stock truck.

I see local dealers here adding 3" spacer/block lifts, calling it a "rock krawler" package and charging $5K for it.
