Yeah I know that now, I had already bought the Expo Leafs (which are great) by the time I knew what SUA was:rolleyes:

Did your expos soften out over time? Well it's still miles better than the lift block. But the tire carrier and spare help weigh it down too.

Honestly, I've found they've flexed out more but aren't much softer. I have a similar tire carrier to yours with a 35" tire so it's about the same weight. When I loaded all my camping gear in it rode quite smooth which was probably about 200-300lbs.

Get some 2.5" x16" smoothies for a 62" pack and some 2.0 hydro's. You can run all day on that. Bypasses are just more to tune.

Yeah you gotta do new mounts and shackles for a 62" pack. Figure out how much travel you want to get and go from there. Might as well do something like a giant kit. That kit looks awesome for 2nd gens. Rear cost about the same no matter what you do. The more you can do yourself the better.

Mike @ Defined recommended to me just to run a Smooth body 2.5 x 16" shock on my truck if I were to run his kit.

As for the 62" (or similar) the frame on the 2nd Gen are dove trails so the shackle mounts are offset the frame so you could use the stock front spring hanger but you'd have to custom make a mount for the shackle mount. I believe the Defined kit is much simpler, and better tuned/designed for our trucks:cool:

The Defined kit is def. the way to go.

Do you have any pics of the bolt-on bedcage from Mike that you installed on your truck, as well as the axle mounts for the shock?

Can't comment, but I haven't seen any be posted. I believe if you run a crossmember between the 2 buckets (that Defined makes) you shouldn't have to many problems but it wouldn't be very difficult to reinforce the buckets either if wanted.

Not yet, with x-mas this past weekend I didn't get a change to work on the truck. Hopefully this weekend.

The craftsmanship of the hoops and the rear crossmember are Immaculate!! Never dissapointed with Mikes work. I can put pics on tonight of the hoops and crossmembers themselves if you'd like... Install pics to come for sure tho.

Ollie----- I've wheel the shit out of my truck, with stock location Billies right now and haven't found any cracks.....time will tell tho once I can get my smooth bodies in :D

If you wouldn't mind posting a pic of the shock hoop that'd be great. I spoke/PM'd back and forth a while ago with Mike about it and his kit, just haven't gone through with it yet as I have some many thing on the list ahead of it I'd like to do first.

Yeah, Mike's work is awesome. I have his shackles and rear crossmember and some custom U-Bolt Plates, all of them are just awesome and fitment was always perfect:cool:

So are you currently running the Defined SUA with shocks in the stock form?

Correct, with Bilstein 5100's. To be honest it doesn't do that bad. I ran whoops in glamis and gordons. Obviously the whoopin will only get smoother and faster with longer shocks, but I was scrappin bedsides lol

Here's some pics of the install. The fitment was by far perfect, and I'm expecting nothing less on the shock hoops as well

Just not really looking fwd to pulling the leafs apart, for some reason I've always got this invision that they are gonna spring apart as soon as the first bolt comes out lol. But they never do of course.

Your talking about that center pin? Just use a C-clamp and clamp them together and then once the bolt is out you can un-compresss them slowly

Yeah, Mike explained install to me and it seemed super simple and easy. (way easier than installing the front LT).

    Nice pics, looks awesome

Why do you have to pull the leafs apart? :notsure:

Why do you have to separate the leafs?
