Where/how did you mount your Ipod?

I'm looking for ideas on where or how to mount my Ipod to make it easier to access. I never use mine anymore since I don't have the interface to control it through the stereo so I was thinking that if it was more accessible I would use it more. I have a 1st gen. Ipod Nano but all models can still give me ideas. Any Ideas/pic would be appreciated.

 

Hooked up via ipc-106 to my Eclipse Deck in the glove box.

 

Center Console. Takes a little more TLC to install but WELL worth it because of aesthetics and accessibility (not so much on serviceability but hopefully you won't have to continually uninstall and reinstall the cable) do it once and do it right

I'd still like to make a slot where I can drop my iPhone into and have it dock automatically. It shouldn't be that hard to do. I just need time and everything else above it on the priorities list to get done.

 

I'm also needing some ideas, except I'd like to be able to mount it upright, close to the steering wheel so I can press the buttons whilst driving (safely of course). I thought of some kind of bracket with a mount into the space between the dash and factory radio. Just a simple piece of thin aluminum should do.

a HU that can control it is the only way to go

 

i just have one of the 12v things that i got for like $30. but i keep mine here. usually keep my phone their as well.

edit: when i go to the mall or some wear that i will be out of the truck for a long time i un plug the adapter and hid it and ipod in the center console.

 

I could run the cord into the center or something but I really want the phone to be someplace accessible. I also want it to dock easily. I don't want to hunt around for a cord.

 

Check out bracketron. We sold them at best buy for sat radios. I don't personally like them but they fit perfectly on splits in the dash and I am pretty sure they sell stuff for iPods.

I have the exact same set up, even the same HU.

 

Mine is in the glovebox, connecting to the back of the stock head unit. I didn't want to see it, so it's the best solution for me.

 

This is exactly what I was thinking of doing. How long is the metal that you placed in the dash split area? I'm assuming you have enough space to get to your AC controls, though they're difficult to see. I have the same dash to work with as I have a 4x4 also with the controls to the left of the steering wheel, so no space for a mount/bracket there.

I thought of mounting a bracket like yours to the left of the 4x4 control panel, close to the steering wheel.

 

Yeah personally I like factory integration. The more stock it looks on the inside the better. That's the reason I say center console or glove box. Either way it is all good. No matter what you do as long as you have your iPod I am sure you will be thrilled, no more CDs lol.
