i have a honda s2000 as my "sports car". it's like a go kart for grown men, and you can get the older ones 2000-2003 which are the more desirable ones for right around 10-15k. Mine has quite a bit of work done:
    IMG_1238_094a007aaeba9fa3ac8094c859df66e1daf27a91.jpg

and it's a honda so it's extremely reliable and aftermarket parts are available for everything. bad thing is that aftermarket parts, the good ones anyways are not cheap

My vote would be for a Corvette. You can get a nice C6 for that price with low miles, or a slightly older Z06. Good cruisers, but can also rip it up when you want to.

I know you said sports CAR, but if youre looking for an absolutely stupid toy with no other purpose than being a toy, you could look into something made by Ducati, Aprillia, BMW, or even KTMs RC8. No room for groceries or fat chicks and enough thrill to lose your license and test the strength of your ball hair. :D

I know the story behind that video. Guy used the wrong lugs to put his wheels on when he swapped them to do autox. They were a slightly larger thread pattern so they popped right off.
I'm familiar with RX7's and their history. I know that upgrading things like the radiator, deleting the first CAT, and adding an aluminum air separation tank to replace the stock plastic one will really improve reliability. I've wanted one pretty much forever.

And who says I want a weekend getaway car? I've always wanted to build a monster. :D

Mini cooper's are LEGIT! Probably one of the best handling FWD cars ever made. No homo.
Hell no I'm not looking for a DD! I have the truck for my DD. This additional car can (and should) be plain ridiculous.

They really are incredible. I recently wrote on my blog about the new GT500 that Ford just released. 650HP and +200mph from the factory. Electronicly adjustable dampeners, the whole nine.

    Ford's back!

    5. Mustang 5.0

This is the list, in order as of now. The only reason the RX7 is so low is because it would be a bitch to find one the way I want it. (manual, red or white, clean body and interior, blown up engine)

Have you driven an RX7? I got behind the wheel of a '94 turbo (black with the factory spoiler -- looked like the Batmobile) and it was stupid fast.

Only issues: Like you said, the engines don't last, and they're T-I-N-Y! My tailbone was on the front edge of the seat and my head was tilted sideways to fit in the thing. Still, for the 10 minutes I tore it up, it was amazing!
