My wife has a resentment that I bought a truck (4x4) that's hard for her to get into (not to mention a manual shift she can't drive, which was no accident)...so she is getting back at me by reeking havoc on the door, etc. getting in and out.

Don't want running boards, or other expensive accessories...could anyone help me out with a cheap mod/way of putting a step on just the passenger side??? I'm a bit tapped out after down payment (which she also wasn't too happy about). It' my own fault...what can I say?

    Any info, or links appreciated.

you could try a cheap set of rock sliders. there are a bunch of threads about them. they wont take away any of the ground clearance like step bars do.

Side tubes may help but they do make it difficult to NOT use them to get in. I have tubes on the sides of my 09 DCSB and have to extend my leg further out to not rub on them.

With the amount of salt and sulfur they lay on the roads in PA, my truck gets pretty nasty. The wife complains when she gets gussied up and blackens the backs of her new pants trying to get out of the truck. If she would just use the damn bars as steps, she wouldn't have an issue.

The wife's complaints are drowned out using the volume controls on my radio :headbang:

Sounds like I'm not the only one with the complaining-female about this...I think I will just go to Lowes and get some re-bar, or some such thing, and have it welded to the frame...then she can't compalin about how much it cost.
