When installing with shocks that get tabbed off of the rear axle, the suspension needs to be cyceled to ensure proper location and consumption ratio of the shock, as well as there is no binding or over extending, etc etc.

    Make sense?

SO you split the leafs apart, only using the largest main leaf. its nice and soft with no additional compression and you can cycle to full bump/droop with just a jack. Its actually pretty cool being able to see it cycle. You can also measure your axle travel at this time too.

Oh, what size shock are you running? As Mike said to run a 16" Travel shock, and since the kit only cycles 15" of travel you shouldn't have any problems with cycling/travel of the suspension setup.

I'm going to be using a pair of FOA 14" smooth body resi's that I have, so I'll be using pretty much the entire shock. Which is my need to having to cycle the leafs to ensure proper alignment of everything, that way I dont over extend them, or smash the internal bumps all the time. Even with a 16" shock cycling the suspension isn't a bad idea, again just to ensure proper alignment and geometry during the cycling.

Fer sure man!! I'm hoping to do the hoops this weekend, after that. GAME ON!!!!

i have had ONE customer that started to see a little cracking on the outside double shear portion of the rear hanger. but the customer didnt have my recommended shackle bucket crossmember , or a design similar to it.

i have over 2k offroad miles on the kit in my truck without issue as well as hundreds of test miles on the TRD LBR race truck without issue. along with about 2 dozen customers that havent seen any issues. if you follow my recommendations there will never be an issue. the oem shackle buckets will hold up fine to all kinds of abuse if they are reinforced properly.

    Mike,

What sort of loads have you placed over your kit? I'd be looking at about 250 pounds over stock. Most of it pretty close to axle, some of it against the cab.

How about longevity on the leaf spring with that sort of load?

Show me a shock that does not have SOME form of an internal stopper.......or bottoming out point

Maybe I shouldn't have used the word bump stop, it sends you egotistical linkers through the roof

i carry a little over 350pounds of gear on a daily basis for the past 2 years on the same set of springs. even chased with about 700-800 pounds of gear and spares a few times . all without affecting the spring at all. the springs last an exceptional amount of time with load applied. the arch isnt too much and the springs dont go into negitive arch at all. it really is the perfect spring for this truck.

Good to know, as I plan on adding a bed-rack (prob 100-150lbs) tools (100) spare (60) camping gear (150-200) so probably about 500lbs when all said and done.
