    Hey frank if they're that froze on you could try a 6" pipe wrench, they grip really well & if that doesn't work since everything is so jacked I'd try to cut the nut off, before I'd cut the shaft or stem

    as far as putting 5100's on just lift the back of your truck an inch or 2 (not the tires off the ground just lift from bumper)& you can practically push the bolt in lower shock mount..

    They were easy to compress, well kind of. I took a little wd-40 and put it on the rubber bushing and it slid in. Then I used a screw driver to align the hole.

    Well, one shock is good, but the other shock we had to cut the top off to get the nut off because I had the same problem as Doc.SS
