By not loaded does that mean clip is loaded just not a hot chamber or completely unloaded empty clip and chamber because if its the later then whats the point of carrying the extra weight?

If you are carrying an unloaded gun what's the point of carrying? If everyone knows its unloaded it serves no purpose. You will resort to your training and most people don't train unholstering, inserting magazine, chambering, then firing. Last thing you wanna do IMO before you have to pull the trigger is mess around wasting time loading.

A sticker broadcasting you carry doesn't protect your truck if you are not around, if anything it may present the idea that hey maybe there's a gun in here, no ones around I'll check it out!

Get an alarm and insurance and call it a day.

I see no point in unloaded open carry I think I would rather carry a brick. As for the bill in cali that doesnt suprise me at all I dont care for that state one bit and you couldnt pay me enough to live there. Fun place to visit though. One reason I enjoy living in PA is to get a ccw its a trip to the county court house, a background check and like $25 and you have a ccw permit. Its pretty easy to get one around here.

I dont care for the state thats my opinion. I would never live there period. Just because it is one of the largest states really doesnt mean much at all. I would not choose to live the becuase of the anti-gun laws and the cost of living and other reasons. Thats my choice and is nothing against the people the choose to live there its just not my speed. I live in south central pa also refered to Pennsyltucky. Alot of people wouldnt want to live here and thats fine with me.

    Jasmine,
I understand its a big state and I do enjoy when I visit, I have family out there and it is a cool place just not one I would choose to live in and thats not really a put down for the state but a personal decision.

Now i believe we are way way off topic at this point.

Pretty sure there are NO federal laws prohibiting the open carry of a loaded firearm. You should make sure you have a good working knowledge of topics you choose to wade into....Not just what Commie-fornia does.

Georgia doesnt issue a CCW....we issue a permit to carry generally we're in the same boat as states like maryland where you need a license to carry openly or concealed...you can carry loaded openly in GA

    wtf?

first of all the way our legal system works is that everything is legal unless there is a law against it....Openly Carrying a gun is not illegal under federal law

its legal to carry loaded in Cali as long as youre not in a city until jan first...people have taken to carrying rifles already because of the handgun ban....also people have created locked containers like this to keep their pistols on them to get around the ban on open carry...watched a youtube vid recently of it

    just found it again

Im a concealed carry permit holder as well. I know its probably not for everywhere but Ga law Justifies using lethal force in the event that you are afraid for your life. As sooner said I hope i never have to find out either but if someone wants something bad enough to break into my tacoma in my driveway, what says they wont try my house? and especially if they are armed. Then i would take necessary measures. But i as well wouldnt advertise you carry.

Carrying open draws alot of unwanted attention. Example: You go somewhere where others are present (not walmart or anything like that nessecarilly) and you have someone who freaks out at the sight of a gun. They could flip out, give others the wrong impression, turn a situation into total chaos due to opinion. See where im goin with this? lol i dont mind carrying open but i prefer concealed carry for that reason.

not if you have a georgia license...it just a license to carry pistols and knives over 5 inches in general dont have to conceal or carry openly...

you cant use force just because youre scared...you can only use force to prevent a forcible felony.....

here is the GA code on weapons and defense http://georgiapacking.org/GaCode/

I havent read all the responses you your question yet, but IMO, this is probably the worst thing you can do. In short, it defeats the purpose behind "conceal Carry". If you advertise, you may as well open carry. The whole idea of conceal carry is to NOT let people know you have a weapon. Putting a sign on your vehicle also can invite more theft potential, because if the thieves know you potentially have a weapon in your vehicle, they will be more apt to break in and take it. I suggest getting a good alarm or some other method of deterrent.

    Just my .02

it's illegal (now) in Kalifornia, where liberty goes to die,.. but there is no federal "law" against open carry a loaded firearm.. here in OH, it's perfectly "legal", and constitutional..

This is a BAD idea. You can talk to my buddy who is serving 5 years in prison for something like this.

My buddy has big sticker on his truck that says "powered by JL audio".. So he's telling the world what he has. He got an alarm, 2way paging, the works. It went off, he ran out and found 3 guys raiding his truck. He ran towards them yelling at them to stop, they started to fight him as he ran up. They got some good punches in, then He pulled his gun and shot one guy 3 times in the stomach, the other 2 ran off after that. His girlfriend was on the phones with the cops during this entire mess.

The guy he shot died, and my buddy is in prison for killing the guy. Even tho he was attacked first, and they were breaking into his truck, the fact that he ran out and tried to stop him, then shot him to death, was enough to land him in for 5 years. If he'd of just let them go, he would of been fine.

Moral of the story, JL audio isn't worth 5 or more years of your life.

Except every CCW holder should know that lethal force isn't allowed for property- and running into a situation vs 3 other dudes is not intelligent. Having a gun and provoking that situation makes it hard to defend.
