Yup I was there on that trail run to corral canyon with that jeep blocking our path. I was just watching and supervising moving that jeep :D.
It is the nickle plated 5100's. Perfect...If you don't want them, Greg is welcome to have them. Either you or Greg may PM me so we can plan things out.

Thats stock tire size for 2nd gen if i remember, your not really going to have alot of rub issues until you go up in tire size although depending on your driving style offroad (if you intend to) you can rub & hit in stock tire form also, regardless there seems to be a certain amount of trimming of inner skirt plastic that takes place with just about any offroading, if you have mud flaps, I highly suggest taking them off before hitting any trails, they'll be the first thing that breaks off...

Yeah i got my wheels n tires went from a 16" to 17" n they rub. I know sport model has 17" so i figured it would work but i think that 5.0 back spacing might b the issue but i want to b sure.

Greg isn't your current 5100 blown right now because it is the stock length one? Your truck is to high for that length, get some extended ones and you will be fine.

Not sure, but I think I'm pretty close to stock height with only the TSB leaf and a procomp AAL. I'll definitely ask about this when I get a chance to meet with DSM in person. The only thing I could think of as to why it went out is just long running and then some sudden hits. lol My driver side DR/Icon CO is also blown.

Where did you buy the 5100's from?

Bilstein has a lifetime warranty...when I blew mine I took it to DSM and they handed me a new one and they sent it back in for me.

I got mine from DSM as well :) I won't be able to get an exchange until later in January due to the 5100s being on back order. When they get more in, I'm gonna run in and they already agreed to do a quick replacement for me and send the blown one in. Good guys there at DSMS.

It's kind of a hole in the wall location. It's RIGHT after Old Cliffs Rd. There's a Sherwin Williams, an RAI Dialysis Care Center, and SK Upholstery in the area as well. It'll be at the far end of a hallway in the northern section of the parking lot. The rear of their shop faces an alley way of sorts.

I've market the exact building at these coordinates. Throw them into maps.google.com. Again, you must go through a shady hallway to get to them.

Thanks, Randy! I'll definitely keep you in the know. My plans are to get that spare billy from Poke Tako until I can get my own 5100 replaced. Then I need to find a shop who can get these overtorqued, rounded alan/star bolts out of my front top plates (done by a shop) and replace them with bolts a normal human can actually work with. Don't know WHY they used those kinda bolts (to get me back into their shop later??) I'm gonna then throw in my Old Man Emu and 5100 set up into the front while the DRs get a rebuild.

Hey guys, I've been reading your posts for a couple days now... u guys seem like a bunch of cool guys... I don't live in SD but I'm just North of the county line on 79S just East of Temecula..
Got a quick question... seems like u guys have been thru a lot with ur trucks... maybe u'll be able to help...

I got a 05 4x4 double cab with Bilsteins set at 2.5" in the front... the rear is stock.. recently i did a lil off roading and towed an arena drag (maybe 200lbs) around my property... now i feel this vibration when i go around 55-65mph.. seems to go away when i let go of the gas or when im on a curve (more if im turning right).. i've read other threads and i am left a lil more confused... i've had my tires rotated and balanced and the vibration/humming noise is still there.... any ideas? today i might lower the shocks a lil to see what happens... thanks guys..

oh i've noticed u guys like otay truck trail for a lil off roading... i haven't done that there with my truck but last time i was out there it didn't look so bad. u can also access it thru marron valley rd off hwy 94 just east of the CDF Fire station

Might be a good idea to check your u-joints/spider-joints. When mine went out, I was going up a hill and got some hard vibration when I hit 40 and above. I would feel roughness upon accelerating and when I was going up hill. The joints are located along the drive shaft. There should be three under there I think. Give the drive shaft some wiggles while holding the other piece of the drive shaft that the joint is connected to. There should be very little to almost no play when twisting the shaft. I wish u the best of luck and welcome to the club!

We are THE biggest bunch of douchebags that ever got behind the wheel of a Tacoma,:eek::p

did you hit a snag while dragging ? The stock rear suspension is weak & flimsy, you may have pulled your axle out of alignment a little, I'll bet your U bolts are loose too, as greg mentioned about u joints grasp drive shaft firmly where it bolts up to yoke & check for sloppiness, there should be NO slop side to side or up & down...
