    Questions:

    1. installing new shower arm... using teflon tape, i bought the "pink" tape because it's a little thicker?, how many times can i wrap the tape around the threads? i ask because it seems to be a rather loose fit, and you can only get a fixed number of turns in to have it aligned properly..

    2. new toilet... i need to install a new toilet after my bathroom remodel (which i did 3 yrs ago!). i also installed new flange in floor (PVC, had to cut old one off, glue new one in), i used brass screws (there are 6 holes in flange) to secure to floor, but i broke one of them, ..i've got four screws holding it in - is this ok? also, any recommendations for toilet brand/etc? ...was thinking about an american standard cadet 3/4

    1, I wrap it 3-5 times and on 90% of threaded pipe connections I use teflon first then pipe dope as well. Havent had one leak yet.

    2, you should be OK. The glue is what prevents it from leaking, the screws only hold it to the subfloor.

    Yes cheap plumbers will show more butt crack then expensive plumbers.

    My hot water in my master bath takes forever to get warm. The thermostat on the heater is just below the highest setting. What can I do to get hot water up there quicker?

    Opps, two story 2.5 bath, the heater is in the garage and the master bath is up a floor and about 50' back.

    the only way to fix that would be to install a recirculating pump so that the hot water travels from the furthest point in the house to the water heater and it is almost instantaneous hot into each faucet other than that its just a waiting game because the water in the pipe from the fixture to the water heater has cooled down and has to travel the distance and most faucets are a 3/8 inch incoming line and the supply is 3/4 inch.. hope that helps

    Hot and cold mainly for freeze protection. And to help the water be a little warmer going into the water heater so it doesn't have to work as hard.
