    he has a point, lab created diamond are exactly the same the only difference is that the ID will state that it was lab created. The only company that is guaranteed not to sell conflict diamond is de beers because they have control of the diamonds from the mine to the market. Also stay the hell away from kay, shaws, zales, any of those places.

    dude just go pan for gold and have a jeweler make the ring with what you found! You can always get a plated ring instead of solid 14k gold/white gold.

    Best thing you can do is have a budget, and stick to it for all its worth. Luckly I have a friend who is a jewler who cut me a fat deal. Otherwise my firancee's ring would have been untouchable

    I'll probably make my decision on what I am going to do tonight. I'd love to check out your bumpers, want to place an order with you eventually. I could also go visit my friend in Oceanside and maybe stop by then... assuming your in stinky town.

    I'm comfortable just being with somebody for my whole life, doesn't mean we necessarily have to get married. Although I'm sure at some point in my life I probably will get married, just won't be extravagant and cost thousands and thousands of dollars! Small and cozy wedding. :D

    Last I heard, the average wedding runs $20k. Fuck that. I'm getting a new truck.

    I'd do it again in a heart beat. I walked in with a similar budget. With gold prices going up the bands are getting more expensive. I've been told by many jewelers that the prices will go up after new year. I ended getting a platinum band with 3 stones. The girl that was working gave me 400 bucks off (it helps to flirt with them) but it still ran me 5 grand. I went to Portland to save 500 on taxes, as well.

    The most expensive part is food and venue. We are having a "small" wedding with 100 people. The food alone is 4k plus an 18% gratuity. The sucky part is most venues will not allow you to bring outside food in and charge a butt load for their food and alcohol.

    A wedding will cost thousands of dollars. There is no way around it. Once you actually sit down and start looking at what you need the cost goes higher and higher. Here are some things that bump the cost up;

    Venue - if you have a hook up somewhere you could get a deal otherwise this alone will be 1000+.

    Food - you could skimp on this and do finger foods. Many places don't allow outside food and their food is expensive. Typically 15-20 bucks a head on the cheaper side.

    Video/photography - you don't think it would be expensive but it is. The cheapest I was able to find for just photos was 1000 for a novice photographer. If you want something a little better it'll be 2-7000+.

    Decorations, Wedding dress, hair/makes up, etc.

    You might have some families helping with the cost but so far for my wedding I've been paying for everything.

    That is if you're lucky. Depending on how many people you invite. I wish mine was only gonna cost 20k

    My buddy put a $15,000 ring on his girlfriends finger a couple months ago. Only to have her leave him.

    Not funny. It's depressing at times. And mind blowing at others

    When I got married, our venue was the local Elks Lodge. We had 125 ish people, and they did all of the setup, booze, food. Our total bill was less than $2500. Take a look at the local lodges, and see if you have a freind/family who is a member of that lodge. I have been a member for 15 years, we have had several parties at our lodge, and they take very good care of us.

    How long ago did you get married? Weddings have become a huge business and prices have gotten ridiculous. I'm getting married at a lodge in Leavenworth.
