I think a guy on here dyno'd his truck with the OEM filter, and no filter at all, and saw a 1.2 hp gain. Still within the margin of error of the dyno, but I think all the runs he did showed a similar gain. SO.....in short, I agree with what you said :)

I wonder what thread stirs the pot more:

"Are K&N filters ruining my engine"

    or

"I am thinking about putting SockMonkey 4x4 stickers on my PreRunner and lifting it-- what do you think?"

I was considering a K&N for the Taco, I have them on my other vehicles, but I am interested in the AFE drop in filter as well. I did a quick google, and came up with a couple different part #s. does anyone have the proper Part # for the AFE?

    Here is what I found:

10-10013; 10-10014; 10-10114. Not sure which one It should be.

    Thanks

From Dec 2011 to Jan 2017, this thread comes up when doing a search.
As far as a part #, sorry, no help.

Other searches brings up this multi air filter test.
    http://www.billswebspace.com/AirFilterTest.htm
"This report presents the results of an ISO 5011 test of several air filters designed for the GM Duramax Diesel"
    See link for the details.

aFe is not much better than the K&N and they both are on the lower end of the scale.
I just ran a K&N in my last tank of gas on a 2017, 3.5 4D, LB, 4WD, Tow Pkg.--- Not enough difference to matter.
