I have been hanging around here since I got my new to me 09 Taco but I have yet to do the proper introduction. I always wanted a Tacoma after driving one of my buddies 1st gen some 8-10 years ago and I have finally decided to actually buy one. I have always been a Chevy guy and I actually worked at a Chevy dealer back in college hauling cars and RV's / do it all guy so I have always been around them and liked them. But anyways I bought the 09 Taco w 28k miles on it back in July and I have been in love with it ever since. This is my 6th truck I have had and 5 of them have been Chevy's. My last truck was a 2500 duramax ltz with all the options and I thought I liked it allot. I bought it to pull our cargo trailer we had to haul our rhino and other atv's around and that was a good excuse to get a diesel.
I then got a job in St. Louis and found that I was starting to really not like cruising in the diesel. It rode like crap (my fault kinda, turned up the torsion bars), went through 30 dollar fuel filters every 2-3k miles, and lastly it was getting old paying to $4 diesel just to drive around as I don't have the cargo trailer anymore since the move.
My dad is also a salesman at the dealership I worked at and I mentioned I wanted a taco and at first I think he didn't believe me since I have always had Chevy's and they were a Chevy dealer. But shortly after mentioning the idea the taco I now have was traded in there, it was fate it seemed like as I wanted a MGM. I absolutly love this truck its the best one I have got so far, drives great, good mileage and I don't think I will buy anything different for a long time. The duramax was fun and I do miss the power and sound of the turbo spooling up but that is it....everything else I do not miss and I am so glad someone else has it now!

Anyways enough story telling, below is the pic of the new taco and also my old duramax. Now its time to get started with the mods!

Welcome from Connecticut. Couple of pretty nice looking trucks there. Really no sense keeping the Chevy if you're not hauling with it anymore. Have fun!

I used to live 2 hours south 'ish, I went to SIU and lived just south of Carbondale, IL. I still go down that way every few months to see the family and do some rhino riding / duck hunting!
