Camburg or Fabtech

Well after reading hundreds of posts on suspension over the past couple days, I am going to say I am a bit overwhelmed.
I am curious about the 4" spindles from camburg and the 3" Fabtech kit
To those in the know I ask, which is the better way to go and why
What are the pros and cons of each.
Keep in mind I am an average mechanic but not an absolute gearhead

Camburg or total choas all the way lift spindles are badass keep stock geometry of front end and u don't need aftermarket ucas and can still run stock coils/shocks give the truck a great stance too

 

OP, you're 4x4, spindles cant be used with the suspensions including the front CVs
(just a heads up)

 

Spindles are your best bet camburg spindles > craptech

Since ur 4x look at a nice set of adjustable coils for the front well all depending on ur price range

 

You can not run lift spindles since your 4x4. There are tons of company's out there who make good lift kits look in to Toy Tech, OME, Fox, King or Icon to name a few.

I guess I am going to look for a good coilover kit. Looking for about 3-4 inches of lift and if possible 10-14 inches of travel

 

Then you will need new UCA's like total chaos or camburg and new coils

 

Fagtech almost killed me twice. I will walk before I get into anything built by them.

On a side note. Camburg is the way to go. You cannot use the Spindles though and retain your 4x4. But you can use everything else.

I would not put a Fabtech Kit on my truck if you gave it to me. Had one on a Chevy and it was a nightmare. Camburg and CST are great I have had both and no issues with either one.

Are you guys really against Fabtech that much? Is is quality, price, bad install?
I am just asking cause the kit looks decent and when put next to the Camburg setup(uca and coils) seems more complete. I am assuming that the camburg would put me over my budget once I include the rear end.

Yes, fagtech is stupid and a waste of money. If you have 10k I would go LT out front and out back.

 

Just checked out the Icon sight. Impressive. Man there is so much out there to choose from. Anything else that I should definitely stay away from.
I am looking for a functional 3-4" lift that will accomodate a 33" tire and be able to be driven at decent speed
More for performance than anything

 

Okay. Go with some Camburg or Icon CO's with TC UCA's or Camburg UCA's.
As for the rear suspension get deavers spring kit with some 2.0" shocks with resis.

 

YES Craptech is crap.... Its is a stamped kit with horrible customer service.. Its not hand made like Camburg or CST. You will hate your life if you by one. They fall out of alignment easy and squeak like crazy. Like I said if you gave me the top of the line fabtech kit, it would be like you were giving me a bed full of shit...LOL... Wait a little longer and buy a better lift. You will end up paying more in the long run if you buy a cheap kit now. Good luck
