Just got the -43 blower motor installed on my '11 (10k miles) this week while it was in for the free oil change.

Best Christmas present ever was turning the A/C on and hearing only the sound of air blowing :D

Yes, new blower assy ending in -43. I was one of the lucky few on this forum to have it installed back in Oct when the part became available instead of having to wait for it. Just so happened to be in the right place at the right time since the person who had it ordered for their truck didn't show up to claim it.
Just keeping everyone on this forum updated with how many miles it has gone without any issues. I am stationed in FL and it is still warm here so the A/C is being used daily. As of now it has been installed in my truck for approx 2 months and over 3000 miles.

Took my 2011 in for first oil change. They ordered the blower motor and will replace when it comes in. No questions asked. They also said I can get the 4 leaf spring TSB no problem. I already installed Firestone air ride bags so I would have to take them off before they will replace. Not sure if it's worth it since air bags working awesome. Also they put in synthetic oil no additional charge since I bought my 11 after July. So far good experience with dealers service. They will continue to do changes at 5k miles with synthetic until my 2 years ends. After that I will probably do them at 7.5k interval. Noticed when I looked at the 2012 Tacomas on the lot they are made in Mexico??????? To bad....

Out of curiosity, what is wrong with your current leaf springs? Is your bed already bottoming out while under load? I ask since you have an '11. I have an '11 LB DC and have had no 'true' problems with my leafs. They just squeak sometimes.

I am guesing not ... too many miles(?) ... it is not a recall ... although if the motor fails you won't pass inspection due to not having defroster ability.

genconex - I had no problems with the 3 springs until I towed my camper (4000lbs). It has the weight distribution hitch but over small bumps and gravel roads I bottomed out pretty hard. If I didn't tow I would not have noticed or worried about it. The air bags work great for towing and seem to keep the rear tires on the road better when going over bumpy roads. Also they seem to keep the truck flatter when cornering. I doubt I will ever put enough weight in the bed for it to matter but for towing they are a dream. I used to have a Ford Expedition and guess I am used to how it towed - plenty of power and for the Expedition 4000lbs was nothing.

I bought the same one from advanced auto parts and it cost me about $65 otd, 2 months in and it squeaks, and my truck isn't covered by the TSB warranty, so I am stuck. I need to call the warranty in through advanced and likely go get the stealership version... :/ I hope someone can find this part someplace cheaper, how about a group buy :)

Anyone have any issues with the new motor? Mine is starting to make the annoying noise again. I might have to get a 4th one put in under warrenty (2 were the older design). I saw no difference with the new improved motor.

Are you saying you got your Tacoma in Oct or a new blower assembly in Oct? I am assuming you picked yourself up a nice new shiny Tacoma in Oct since you state going in for the 5K service soon. In that case odds are that you have the blower assy ending in 42. Both my brother and I have '11s and both of us had blower assy ending in 42 (older model). It was explained to me by Morgan, mechanic at Courtesy Toyota in Brandon FL, that the new blower assy ending in 43 is installed in all the '12s and 05 - 11 has the older blowers ending in 40 - 42 (explained on 1st page of this thread under my post).

Don't sweat it too much if it isn't making any noise yet. They will not change it out unless it is making noise (my experience). If it ever develops a clicking noise on the lower settings take the truck in and they will eventually replace it for you; you have to be persistent and not take the BS about it being leaves. I won that battle because I had changed out my own in-cabin air filter. Hard for them to make a claim it is leaves when you swap out the air filter and their is no debris - Had the box and receipt for the filter in the truck with me. Make sure you leave the truck running and show them how it only clicks on the lower settings.

How long have you had the newer blower? I have approx 3500 miles on my truck since having the newer model installed (Oct 28th) with no issues. Granted that might not be saying too much since my original blower ending in 42 lasted approx 12K miles or somewhere around 7 - 8 months.

Are you certain you have the newer motor sub assy ending in 43?
