Not too many plans for the truck. Just put the tires on and I like them a lot, cant wait to get em out in the snow. There are a couple issues with the truck so at this point I am just going to adress them and then get the frame swapped out.

Anyone regret getting rid of their Tacoma for a tundra? How is space in the dc taco compared to the access cab tundra? Ive seen 20 mpg for 1 trip and 17 mpg but what everyone's avg?

I am loving the swap besides the gas mileage. Lots of space, lots of power, and the ride is way better.

Next year I'll most likely be moving up from the standard cab taco so looking at all of Toyota's 4x4 options. What is your mileage? My standard cab only gets 20 mpg but its mostly city driving currently but I'll be switching to a job that's farther away soon so my daily commute will go from 15 miles to like 60

ARB bumper, warn 9.5 winch. carbon fiber hood. Leer top with thule racks and MOAB from thule. Electric fans, blue sea fuse block, Sony dvd Head unit, Xm tuner and HD tuner. New carpet and new racing seats. ( other half doesnt like them i think). Nwor springs and adjustable coil overs. Sky jacker rear shocks. Slot and drilled rotors. Engine Titanium ceramic coated headers, no cat, jba cat back. URD Rear Sensor Simulator. Leds all around and inside cab and HID H4 hi/lo beams.
Toyota had a manual transmission ( drawing board) but never found a supplier to meet the needs for the clutch. I guess no supplier wanted to take it on.

So after destroying my 08 Tacoma and getting paid out by the insurance company. With alot of searching I purchased a 2007 Tundra double cab TRD Offroad with leather and a 5.7 ltr. Sence I purchased it I've put over 2000 k in one week alone and have absolutely no regrets about my purchase. Now to start making it mine. 1st is a lift then after that I will get a set of rims and tires but I was wondering if this will affect my mileage like it did my Taco. it doesn't really matter I'm just wanted to know what to expect after all is said and done.

my gas mileage has dropped a lot with the new bigger tires i went from a 295-65-18 and about 17 on the freeway and 13+ in town to a 295-70-18 and it dropped me to 14 on the freeway and 11.5 in town! i still can not figure out why the big drop when i went from stock to the 295-65-18 i only lost about 1mpg all the way around now i lost about 3mpg!
i need to take mine in the trans seems to be shifting a little funny so i need to make sure there is not another reason i am getting suck low mpg now.

    I'm loving the truck!
No regrets at all & mpg matches my tacoma 4x4.
FWIW my old tacoma finally sold or went to auction from the dealer 3 months on his lot priced at 19500.

What are your opinions between the 4.6 and the 5.7?

What do you mean your trans is shifting funny? Because ever since I put on True Dual Flowmasters the trans seems to let the engine rev higher before shifting when Im lightly driving it, it could be just me but for some reason i feel like thats happening

And here is my new 2012 Tundra 4x4 5.7 bought her with 17 miles and within the first night of driving off the dealership lot i rolled over 95 miles...and today I've had her for a week exactly and now she has 560 miles. I love driving this truck

My 07 with the 5.7 and all stock is getting an average of 14.355 liters/100 km
My 08 taco with 4.0 V6 and a lift with 265/70R17 tires was getting an average of 13.630 liters/100km.
So not to much of a difference. Also that average for the Tundra is only from just over 2000 km's and one tank of it was bad gas. I had an average of 18.7 liters/100kms. Best tank was 13.37 liters/100km all highway at an average of nearly 100km/hr.
