fake trd stickers: dumb or not

I'm in the "It's your pickup, do what you like" camp. Doesn't bother me at all. An example of badging that does kinda bother me are "STi" badges on a standard WRX or "Evolution" badges on a regular Lancer.

i guess if you like the look of it, go for it. but you know one day someone who actually knows something about toyotas will start talking with you about your truck and you have to reply with "its not actually a trd", or you are going to wheeling and someone is going to wonder why your rear locker isn't doing anything, oh whoops, not actually a trd.*

i dont get that...why? should the pre runenrs all start putting 4x4 stickers on so everyone thinks they are 4x4s? i want to pretend it is and i want people to think it is, even though its not. i want people to think im a big bad ass MMA fighter, so im going to wear nothing but affliction and tap out shirts (i dont actually do that), but im not really a bad ass MMA fighter, but i want people to think i am. *

Fake hood scoops/poser stickers...I don't see a problem as long as you like it. I think putting a 4X4 sticker on a prerunner might be taking it a bit too far though...

 

LOL,, definitely agree. My next mod is putting Tundra badges on my Taco. Now that is a mod we can all get behind.

 

and not nearly as dumb as a Z71 sticker on a cheby

 

I agree with the "it's your truck, do what you want" but really the quesiton is what are your motives? If you're putting the sticker on because you think it looks cool, awesome man, its your truck. If you're putting them on in hopes to make people thinks its a TRD, thats dumb.

I have a buddy that keeps the harley davidson emblems off his Harley edition ford to put on all his future vehicles to convince people its the special HD edition.

 

Most people on this forum do things according to what other people think. You own it do what you like.

I'm not really sure what part of that makes him an idiot? I wouldnt walk up to some stranger and tell him what to do with his truck, but Im confused as to why he is an idiot bc he drove an S10?

If you like it go for it. I'm not a fan myself. Although personally I think it's kind of dumb doing it so other people think your truck is a TRD. People who know anything about the trucks will know it's not and people who know nothing about the trucks won't know what TRD means anyway.

uh...yeah...

I put TRD stickers on my truck because IMO, they look cool.

My truck is a 97, and the didn't even have a TRD package then...so it would be kinda hard to try to convince people its a TRD
