mostly its for performance gains and nice grunty sound. I can't see anybody getting more mpg.. I guess its possible but hard to keep your foot off the loud pedal with such an awesome noise..

^^^ x2 I bet my MPG will go down for the next few weeks while I enjoy the sound too! I put it on mostly for sound, performance really won't see a difference unless you do headers and everything, even then its debatable since most motors are designed to run with a certain amount of back pressure...

If you get some-sort of kit, you don't need a welder. Just basic tools.
After it was installed, settled, and where we wanted it - I took it to a local shop to have them weld the joints ($40). That was all personal preference, but not needed. If you're using basic hand tools - after about a week of the install and everything is settled, I'd go through and check all your bolts to make sure they're still tight.

Nice find on that price of $310. And free shipping to boot. That's pretty damn good.

I'll be completely honest - I got the exhaust purely for the sound. So atleast, the truck sounds like 'something' instead of a silent buzz box.

I paid 350 shipped to my door for a magnaflow catback I had on my old X-Runner. It was pretty freaking loud too, it had a 18 inch muffler. I also installed it in my garage on the hottest day of the year. Now I just have my old stocker from the X-Runner on my 4x4, its not to loud.

I only changed my exhaust for sound. I wanted a little rumble, granted, I got one of the quieter mufflers, but it was exactly what I was looking for.

I am considering this kit or the Doug Thorley Kit , as that kit seems to make some power with a single side outlet , priced nearly the same.

The same guy gave me a quote for a custom made cat-back straight design with a dynomax turbo muffler with dual side tip for $395 OTD. The midais place I went to first wanted to just cut the muffler off and put on a tip for $240.. no new pipe.. I think ill just get a kit online

$80 for Magnaflow here: http://www.hottexhaust.com/index.htm plus $80 for install which included a chrome tip. They also had to weld in a length of pipe since the 12576 muffler was too short.

^They have sales all the time. I paid $80 for my muffler but it is showing for $100 right now. At least it's free shipping.
