So the story goes that i have always liked toyota trucks and I found this site by searching up "Tacoma" or something like that. I have been browsing around the site for the last year and been gathering information about these trucks. With that said, for the last twelve months my parents have been looking at getting me a truck. They have always leaned toward tacoma as opposed to ranger and dodge dakota and others because we know they are reliable and hold their value well. We went and looked at one and it was in great condition. The truck had been babied for its entire life and that was very visible. I am very excited to drive it but i dont get my license for 5 months. I have a few mods in mind but I would like to keep it and use it for some light crawling around the Colorado Rocky Mtns. Specs on the truck are (straight from the ad)

-2001 Toyota Tacoma XtraCab SR5 V6, 5 Speed manual transmission. Black with Grey interior. Very few cosmetic dings. True to most Toyotas that I have owned, rear bumper is rusting and slightly warped at hitch area. Spray lined bed with topper. Topper will need new seal as current seal does leak. Class 3 tow package. Frame replaced on Toyota recall as well as a long list of items attached to frame. I have paperwork for recall work performed. Oil and filters replaced in timely manner. Recent resurfacing of rotors and belts replaced. Runs well and is great in poor weather conditions. Currently 160,000 miles with frame replaced approximately 40,000 miles ago. Driver and passenger air bags. AM/FM with tape and single CD player. Previously wired for Sirius Satellite Radio and still has antenna and exposed wiring but Sirius unit is not included in this sale. Pictures will be posted in near future.

    - We cant pick the truck up because the banks are closed and couldn't withdraw the money before the banks closed. So we deposited some money on it and got a bill of sale in return. Being 12/31/11 the banks are closed until after the new year. So we cant get the truck until Wednesday the 4. Pictures from the ad are below since i dont have any of my own.

nmcqueen280- Ive been riding dirtbikes for 9+ years so I feel pretty confident in my abilites to drive manual. Its like second nature and honestly IMO everybody should learn to drive stick.

To all the other replies... Thanks for the replies and welcomes. I hope to go to some meet and greets when I get my license and get to know some other fellow members. Im excited for all that comes with this truck.

I got mine when I was 16 and have been driving stick since I was ten, in and old 52 dodge powerwagon. I have been wanting a topper for my truck, and its cool your getting one outa the deal. IMO though, get that thing off your truck as soon as you get it, throw it behind the garage or something haha.

Also, Idk what your plans on for looks, but I think you should start blacking everything out when you get it. I think that would look great, especially since he said the rear bumper is alread rusting over. Hit it with some bed liner.

    One more thing.
    Lift.
