What's your idea of limited income? Not going to gain much out of your basic exhaust and intake setups. Short of dropping coin on a supercharger, you're pretty much stuck with what you have. Only way to get any noticeable increase for little to no money is getting rid of 6 inches of lift and 33 inch tires.

    Limited income = zero power.
Only way you'll get any noticeable gains is with a s/c or a regear (or both).

I do agree, everything under the hood is factory. Will a good exhaust give an increase?

The only things that will help are a re-gear or a supercharger.

    Neither is inexpensive.

I would love to have a supercharger. I guess I will have to save. Thanks for the info.

A supercharger is a big trade. More power but running costs are more because you have to run high octane, plus maintnance costs are higher and your engine inevitably will eat itself much sooner. I am already having to replace my clutch at 24k miles. I love the power of mine and dont really mind the increase of $2-4 in gas costs per tank.

Re-gear is your best option but sucks it you then change tire size again. Plus there is a trade off with that as well, go to a higher ratio and your acceleration will be awesome but your milage on the freeway will usually suffer because your RPMs are higher.

Take your pick, there is no "CHEAP" mod for our trucks...

Do what I did/am doing... Supercharger, re-gear to 4.55, lockers front and rear (might as well since your already in there to re-gear), and 35" tires...

Maintenance costs are higher? Not sure I agree with that at all. The supercharger itself is maintence free for 100k miles. Even if you wanted to change the oil before then, you can pick up the 4 oz Eaton Supercharger oil for $9.

A supercharged engine is not going to "eat itself" any sooner than a NA motor unless it's not properly tuned or fueled. If you end up running shit gas, too hot of a spark plug, a bad tune, or anything to cause spark knock, then yes detonation can happen and end up destroying your motor. I'm sorry, but if you have to replace your clutch at 24k, to me that sounds like a user error. I had 180k on my last supercharged car before I sold it, still with the stock clutch. I drive the shit out of my truck and my clutch grabs as stong as it did the day I bought it.

If you have the dealer do maint on your truck you will pay more, especially when it comes to changing plugs, etc as you have to remove part of the supercharger. The clutch going is from hard use, VERY HARD USE both on the street and offroad. I will agree that the engine might not have more issues sooner but the potential is definately there more-so than a stock engine and when it does go wrong its usually pretty bad with a supercharged truck. Go over to XR underground and read some of the bad stories, granted most of those are from people who have heavily modified.

I love my S/C and wouldnt trade it for the world. One thing to remember also is if you start adding more mods that if you have a 09+ there really isnt any decent tuners. There is the URD MAF tuner which you can do basic stuff with, other than that UN-I-CHIP is the only other one right now until URD or others can work out the plug issue.
I am stuck where I am at until I can find a decent tuner.

This honestly is the only way to get better power/milage on the cheap out of these trucks.

    Oh Yeah!!!
I just changed my Tire size from 285/60/18's to 275/55/18's, almost two inches smaller, and my truck deffinately has more punch. Power is restored and it feels quick. Also lowered my truck from a lifted 1.75" Toytech lift with rear TSB setup, to a 2.5" drop from stock in front and 3.5" in the rear. Very responsive handling, complements the power just as well.
