So those of us who have been around a while have probably accrued a few nicknames over the years, now self-given nicknames do not count here, just nicknames given by others whether friends, family or co-workers.

Best for me: Hammer (also 'Hammer don't hurt 'em'), and Godzilla (given to me by a bunch of mexicans i used to work with, i'm short, fat and breathes fire), close second "Hammer toting suspect" (given to me by the local newspaper that was writing stories off of the local police log).

Worst: Hambone, when i was young and dumb i objected to being called that at a body shop i worked at so i got stuck with it.

My nickname given to me by my friends in high school is captain clueless.
I have a knack for doing clueless things.

During junior year while playing baseball my at bat walk up song we "Shoot to Thrill" by AC/DC. One game I hit a home run off a change up straight down the middle putting us up by 2 points, we held the lead to win the game, when I got back to home plate I said "I'm just thrillin em" so my friends started calling me "The Thrill" "Will the Thrill" "Thrillology" and it just stuck. I've also been called Big Dog, Big Will, and a million other one's but Thrill is the one that stuck. Never had a nick name I didn't like just as long as someone is joking about it and not getting serious call me what you like.

Tackleberry, been my nickname for over 12 years. It was give to me by a police officer on a range day. He said I had more firearms in the trunk of my car than they had in the whole police department and than started calling me Tackleberry.

Worst name "droop along" got it when I was a boy scout because I had poor posture and slotched, I have learned to stand up straight since than.

Most people call me Mats, which is the first 4 letters of my last name. While in Basic, I got tagged with Fuji, due to my Japanese lineage. Carried that my whole career, some people never knew my real name.
