First post! I was thinking of putting some 235/75/15's on my 2011 5lug access cab. I was wondering if it will affect the MPG or acceleration. Would I get any rubbing with this size tire?

Your mpg and acceleration will go down a tiny bit, but nothing drastic. Also, that size won't rub, an issue you wouldn't encounter unless you decide to go with 30x9.5 or bigger.

Yeah, going to a different wheel will definitely change things in terms of rubbing. But with the stock wheels, a 235/75r15 wouldn't rub.

Thanks guys, its my daily driver so low MPG is a big deal for me. I think I'm going smaller. Maybe 215/75/15 or 225/70/15.

The mpg drop on mine was maybe 1-2mpg max, but I hear ya, in this economy you got save the $ where you can.

    Good choice!

I run the same size, click the link in my sig.

City traffic effects the MPGs more than the slightly larger tire does. It looks a ton better than the stock 215/70's and fits a bit better in the wheel wells.

I run 235/70/15s with no rubbing. It also made my speedometer agree with the GPS. They look much better than stock and the truck is much more secure in all handling situations.

if you check dimensions the 225-75 are little taller than 235 -70s so i went 225 -75 -15 on my12.was afraid of going 235 -75 for torque reasons and i know it wouldn't be much.

Love the truck, Tires look appropriate for wheelwells, especially with the 235/75/15's
Did you not like the Geolanders AT-S's?

    Thanks Motoretro:D

Well, I liked how the geolandars performed on the street, but after getting that size of tire I regretted not just getting the 235/75R15's from the start. Luckily the yoko's have a 30 day test drive warranty, so I was able to exchange them for no penalty. But they didn't have any geolandars in 235/75 so I opted for a different more aggressive tire. The Generals are great tires, and I am very happy with them so far. For what its worth though, the yoko's are great tires as well with really good on pavement manners.

Just a FYI for all fellow 5 luggers. Streetside auto is selling Bushwacker Pocket Flares For $341.95 when you use Smartshopper cupon code. And no tax with free shipping.
Just received mine yesterday. And if you are told they will not fit a truck without OEM flares. I researched it with Bushwacker and they say they will fit but it has to have a 6 foot bed. They will not fit a short bed.

First timer here, I have an 02 5 lug Tacoma which soon be in the shop placing 1.5" daystar spring spacers and a set of Falken 235/75 15 wildpeak A/T3 tires, hope it turns out better looking than the 205 it sits on now. Am I making a good decision?
