Help me decide between Spindles and OME

Stainless steel extended brake lines are a cheap insurance policy

 

So, when you buy a new truck, you replace all the brake hoses right away?
That would be a good insurance policy.......right?

 

If I have the OME kit right now could I add spindles later? if so how much lift would it give me up front, with camburgs

 

Yes, as a matter of fact it would. There's no need to be an asshat about it man, all we are trying to say is that it's better to be safe than sorry. But do what you want, it's your truck man.

 

the camburgs alone give 4" plus how much ever lift your getting out of the OME. for example if your set for 2.5" right now, with the spindles you will have 6.5"
usually people get spindles and set the shocks/coilovers to 0" for the best ride since it brings it back to stock geometry and still lifts the truck

 

thanks, wish i had gone with spindles but didn't know about them until the OME kit was already installed. How would it ride if i did add spindles?

 

we were talking about spindles and lifts weren't we? not stock trucks
the OP is asking for advice and my advice is that its better to get longer ones with the spindles since the stock lines arent made for 4+ inches of lift, they are made for 0"
Looking around at the other companies that make the same lift size spindles, TC and camburg, it should be pretty obvious that upgrading brake lines is highly highly recommended. I know a guy on here in riverside, ca has the CST lift spindles and stock lines but he has stock shocks as well, maybe thats why he doesnt "need" to upgrade but with extended travel coilovers i can almost guarantee the OP will rip his stock brake lines

 

It would ride the same as it does now, just taller.

I work on aircraft for a living - 27 years now - I think I know all about being "better safe than sorry"

heck, why not replace ALL the rubber lines and hoses in the truck - that would be even better right?

spindles make a night and day difference, honestly i wish that was the first mod i did to my truck
edit: it will only ride better if you lower the settings on your OME lift, if you leave it the same way it will ride the same, just be much higher

Yeah man, a custom leaf pack. You could do a leaf pack and a block, but that's highly not recommended.

 

yeah I'm gonna try to stay away from blocks, who makes good leaf packs?

ok thanks, if i got a 3 inch leaf pack like dakars could I add AAL's to it to make it higher or not

 

I know that OME makes an add a leaf for dakars but I highly doubt that will be enough to level it out with the front.
