I think that they would have given LS-Ew a run for their money for 3 quarters. Fast paced offenses do well against the tigers. See West Virginia and Oregon. IMO, the tigers would have come away with the win in the 4th, much like they did against Oregon. Bama is clearly deserving of playing in the National Championship.

Everyone always bags on kickers for...well...for being a kicker. They're one of the most important players on the team when it comes to the end of the game. Just ask Bama, UGA, and now, Stanford about that. EDIT: Forgot about Boise St.

And no, there's no way Okie St beats LSU. They ended with 41 points, but They didn't really seem all that explosive. Maybe it was just me.

On a different note...what's with the OK St QB bein like 28 years old? Dude got a crap load of money to sign with the Yankees to pitch...then after struggling in the minors, decided to go to college and play football. It's just weird to me that he's a college football player and he's 28 years old...

I bet he'll play like shit in the NFL. He'll just be too old and take too many hits. He'll do fine his first few years, but that is it.

There are plenty of 28 yr old QBs that do fine. They're not rookies, I realize, but 28 isn't too old to play. He won't last long (and might not be good at all), but I don't think being 28 necessarily means he'll flop right away.

Not uncommon. Chris Weinke was 25 when he started at FSU.

I'm bagging on him b/c I'm pissed he let Okie State win. I don't think an OT win over Stanford really gives them much to stand on as far as proving they should have been in New Orleans, but I really wish they hadn't won anyway.

On a side note, this Tostitos lady who keeps announcing the MVPs is really freaking annoying.

Y'all are a bunch of sissy whiny hose bags. The Fiesta Bowl was a great game, by both teams. And for anyone to knock any player... You all are the losers.

Seems LSU had a older QB a few years back, took the same route, via minor league baseball, was it Josh Bootie?

If you had posted this a couple of days ago it could have been post of the year. Very funny

But an overtime loss to la state does?

(I'm a Bammer, but... ) Yes. It was our only loss. If we'd lost to Vandy, who I believe is the SEC equivalent to Iowa State, I wouldn't think we deserve a shot at the title. It's about the quality of the wins, but it's also about the quality of the losses.

I really wish we had an opportunity to see Okie State against La State or Bama. I'm confident that either defense would almost completely shut down their offense, and their defense couldn't stop either offense. I know there's a reason they play the games, but I think the Cowboys are 0-2 vs. the two teams in the NC, given the chance.

I'm sorry, Mr. Feelings Police. I take it back.

I enjoyed the game very much. I was pulling for Stanford for obvious reasons. I'm sick of kickers in general. I think my expression of disappointment in his (lack of) performance on a random internet forum is better than the nut jobs who send kickers death threats after missing FGs, which happens all too often.

Congrats on the win and the season. It was quite a run.

That wasn't directed at you. It was more of a general statement. If a kicker makes a tackle, players, coaches, even announcers make fun of the guy being tackled because the kicker made the tackle. If the kicker runs for a first down or a TD, everyone laughs because he's a kicker. I'm guilty of it. I do it all the time. I was just saying when it comes down to it, you have to trust the guy on the team that's made fun of the most.

    Wut?

FTFY...as I believe Vandy was actually a pretty decent team this year...much better than Kentucky.

I agree with this whole quote.

I'd much rather lose in OT at home to the #1 team in the nation than lose to Iowa State.

It was nice to see them perform well in a bowl......been a while since that has happened. It was a good show for our brand new Defensive Coordinator also. Seems like the D didn't skip a beat and the Shaw/Jeffries combo was sweet to watch.

I almost used Kentucky, but thought Vandy was a better fit because they were 6-6 at the end of the year (like Iowa State) with a similar conference record (2-6 for Vandy, 3-6 for Iowa St) and made/lost a bowl game. Vandy was improved this year and impressed people in some games (like the OT loss to Tennessee), but ultimately only beat Ole Miss and KY in the conference.

A Bama loss to Kentucky would be more like a Okie State loss to a team somewhere between Texas Tech and Kansas in this year's Big 12...

    how am I a hypocrite?

You are saying we're too sensitive and shouldn't let what's said on the internet bother us yet us UGA fans are annoying. So based on your own comments why do you let us get to you?

Any UGA fans here listen to 680 The Fan? Did ya'll hear what Buck Belue had to say to a caller jumping on Bobo for the play calling? I can't find anything on the web about it but damn! Belue was cursing this guy on the radio saying he was an effing idiot and that Bobo was the best OC in the game and we're lucky to have him and it went on and on. Unbelievable! I wish I could find a clip of it.
