time to work on that one. living with mom and dad at 30 is NOT living :D

    I could now

Screw buying a house! It's the worst financial mistake I ever made and I bought a foreclosure. Renting is the way to go IMO. Everyone was tricked by our government into believing owning a house is a good idea and any financial adviser that has 1/2 a brain will tell you thats 100% bullshit. If it wasn't for the gov pushing for everyone to buy we wouldn't be in such a shitty economy right now.

    Reasons to rent
    1. Paying for maintenance and upkeep aren’t a renter’s problem.
    2. Renters can negotiate terms each year.
    3. Renters can move as they please.
    4. Taxes and some (or all) utilities are included in the rent.
    5. Renters can live where they can’t afford to own.
    6. Renting has lower up-front costs.
    7. Monthly costs for renting are most likely cheaper.
    8. Renters aren’t forced to invest in real estate.
    9. Eviction is less damaging than foreclosure.

Oh I know....time fly's by the older you get. It seems like it was just yesterday I was in college

Here's the truth that no one will say in the media.

The simple fact is that the renter – if willing and able to save his money – can buy a house outright in half the time that a conventional buyer can pay off a mortgage. Interest generally accounts for more than half of the cost of a house. The saver/renter not only pays no interest, he also gets interest on his savings, even if just a little. Leveraged housing appreciation, usually presented as the “secret” to wealth, cannot be counted on, and can just as easily work against the buyer. In fact, that leverage is the danger that got current buyers into trouble.
