    Arrived in Kodiak 0830 via the ferry Tustamena. For anyone interested in Alaska travel, I'd recommend looking into the Alaska Marine Highway. No, this was not a Holland America cruise ship - however for the cost and ease, it's hard to beat. Weather was pretty nice for the crossing, especially for this time of year. Although we did hit some weather while transiting the Gulf. All vehicles are triple chained to the car deck!

    Took a short drive around Kodiak, will take some pictures tomorrow. Still hard to believe that I am actually living here. We'll see how I feel in a few months...after all, it is an island.

    This trip was quite an experience, and a chance to see the beauty that our country (and Canada) has to offer. Again, if you truly want to gain a sense of perspective - take this trip.

    Thanks everyone for the positive comments and support. I must admit, I was caught by surprise at the amount of responses. Hopefully, I have persuaded those of you with the drive on your "Bucket List" to actually do it; at least that's what I hope.

    Again, everyone - thanks for your support and positive comments. I'm still amazed at how many people followed me and my trip.

    All I can say is that anyone can do it - if it's on your Bucket List - make it happen. Perhaps, not in the Winter - but, maybe in the warmer months.

    It's cold up here - 5 degrees cold - quite a learning curve to adjusting to the temperature!

    Got access to a full welding/fab shop through the boat - already got some projects planned.
