i have been looking at getting a shel for about 6 months now since i got the truck, i am just having a hard time with the price. today i found a leer dealer in town selling the 100R (not exactly what i want) but there price is 900.00 out the door. my 2 questions are

    1) does anyone have experience with this topper? any goods or bads about it.
    2) is this a great deal or just a normal price i only have one leer dealer close so not too much to compare to, it is much cheaper than the 100xl i have been looking at and am not sure about the quality difference it just seems to be a good price for a new topper.

That's not a bad price at all for a brand new Leer topper. I was quoted over $1,000 for that same shell brand new (I think it was closer to $1,250). That's not terribly that much more than what I paid for mine used. I bought an ARE MX series used off another member.

I have this model. I bought it off of Craigslist for 500. but I had to be very patient to find it. Great top, the only issue is it does not have a tight fit in both front corners. Get some pipe insulator foam (1) from Home Depot for about 2.00 and cut two pieces to fit in the corners. A flashlight or looking from the inside on a bright day will help you to see the gaps. The foam will keep out dust and water. Good luck.

Sounds like a really good price. If it has a front slider, make sure it lines up with the one on your truck.

    OP ,

I have the commercial version of the 100R , the 100RCC , it's a great cap for what I use it for , I got sliding side windows and a sliding removeable cab window .

I have a 100R. It's been fine. Needed a little extra work to seal it to the bed up front, but it's water tight now. Paint match is perfect. I think base price was 1,000 at my dealer. I paid 1,600 with vented windoors on the sides and removeable front window.

That and the xl are the ones I was calling them about when he said he had this one, he said the price is low because he ordered it for someone who changed there mind, I like the extra weight capacity of the rcc he said it would take a lot longer to get for my truck I guess they don't make as many for the short bed. Does yours seal well?

Mine only has the typical problem area at the front corners , as long as you get this area sealed good you are fine .
