My friend has a 1993 Nissan Maxima and we're trying to figure out if he has Anti-Lock Brakes or not.

I know that with all ABS equipped vehicles, there should be a dash light for ABS. His car does not have a dash light for it, nor do i see an ABS module under the hood,so im thinking no, he doesn't have ABS. The manual mentions ABS like other car manuals do, but it doesn't mention whether it was optional or not at the time.

If he does not, then how do you think I could go about teaching him how to brake in an emergency with out ABS? I haven't got a clue.

I'm sure his is the 3rd Gen then, I'm pretty sure his rear suspension is an independent setup, and that last link was helpful. I was able to find pictures and I don't see an ABS module at all under his hood like i suspected.

    Thanks :)
