i have a buddy with a yz250 for sale gabe. freshly rebuilt to, my buddys dad is a bike nut and meticulously maintains his and his sons bikes.

currently in the process of drilling out the left over screw of my antenna that broke off...fun stuff. Just thought i'd share

After a total of 8 total drill bits broken, im going to do the smart thing and call it a night. I made minimal process and there is still a bunch left in there....if any one has any tips i sure would love to hear them...thanks!

 

Yeah those seemingly simple task are the ones that turn out to be ball busters.... put up a couple good pics & lets see what we got & your decision to call it a night prolly a good one (wish i'd done that on a few projects)

 

drill it then use an easy out presto problem solved!

What he said^^^^^^^ You shouldnt be trying to drill it all the way out. Go to harbor frieght and get yourself an easyout. Drill a small hole then use the esayout to reverse the broken piece of screw back out. simple as that!

Yeah, thanks to my inpatience that is no longer an option...doing this last night didnt help either. So what i did is just try to drill out the remaining screw as best i could...now i will wait for my antenna x to arrive and i will probably have to re-thread the antenna hole and hope for the best....

 

my inpatience has fucked me over before to lol i think we have all been in that situation!

This antenna x that you speak of, is it the powered stubby antenna, and if so where did you order it?

 

its not powered. its just a screw on antenna that is shorter they make a 13' and a 14'. I ordered the 13. I just hope i didn't drill too deep in the antenna hole where i damaged something internal within the system. It should arrive in 5 days and i will post pics of the finished product (i hope) but here is the link if you're interested.

Good find right there Skully. For the guy who needs a bumper that's not so bent out of shape.

On another note, I installed my rear shock replacement that Poke Taco gave me. I test drove it this morning and it's a night and day difference. The only harshness I now feel is in my driver side front shock. Gonna replace them with my OME/5100s this weekend and I'm ready for dirt.

I'm gonna be in the dirt just like I used to: You'd call me up randomly and ask what I'm doing- "Having lunch on Anderson Trail overlook..." Ugh- can't wait to be doing those kinda things again- random lunches on the most random trails- the best!!!
