Electric fans are more efficient, and because the motor no longer has to drive the fan you gain a bit of power.

there is also a lot more room in the front to work without the stock fan and clutch.

The look is nicer..but most don't care about how ones engine bay looks in truck we usually wheel in as they tend to get dirty...not sports cars..that different..they are getting very popular in supras.

I will say that in the supra world there tends to be more ppl that get frustrated with E fans and just go back to stock..

I would say that it was more tedious that difficult, but keep in mind that I spent three years at a VW shop in my youth and have always done my own wrenching, so I do have a bit of experience. Still, I think a reasonably capable person could tackle this job. There is a pretty good step-by-step writeup here:

    http://4x4wire.com/toyota/maintenance/timing_belt/

I didn't need any special tools, really. The most 'exotic' tool was a pulley holder: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Q8GVPY/

Shot a coat of paint under the frame yesterday..It's pretty bad for being a southern kept truck. I asked the dealer if there was any way they could check the frame and they said it didn't need to be done.

Is there any way that I can get a frame check if I don't live in the salt belt? My skid plate has about a 4 inch hole in it. You can see the ground looking through the motor down at the skid....It's a 2004.

You live or drive a lot on the beach?

My truck has almost zero rust being kept in FL.

Do you know where the truck came from?

Maybe not a southern kept truck?
