Broken Antenna. What are my options? (pic)

Car wash snapped off my antenna and goodbye radio. base is still stuck in there it looks like how do i get it out? and I would like to get a new antenna cheap somehow what are my options? heres a pic

 

AHHHHGGG i had that happen to i ended up taking a small drill bit and started drilling slowly but before i started cutting i noticed the stud turning a lil so i got a pick and spun it out with no prob maybe itll work for you ?

Yeah that broken stud should be pretty loose in there, so it should be pretty easy to work out. The left handed drill bit sounds like a good choice. But you might just want to see if you can get a small flat head on it, and with a little pressure, unscrew it out. If it's not a completely smooth break and there's any friction to be had, the flathead might be enough to catch it & rotate it out.

For antenna options, check out www.antennax.com. I run the 13" "Eurostyle" flexible antenna. I don't listen to a lot of radio, but when I do, reception is no problem. Just make sure you unscrew your next antenna before the automatic car wash! They tear them up.

these are easy outs, they work wonders and are very easy to use.


you can always get a aftermarket shorter antenna.

 

I have used these before to remove the broken piece for a customer. I use them anytime a bolt or screw gets broken like that.

 

if you don't have the bit, use a dot of JB weld and weld it back together, let it dry, then take it out. Just don't let the weld leak out or your boned. Use just a small dot, should be strong enough to back it out.

The left handed bits will be a better solution to your issue, but if you don't want to buy them JB weld may work for ya.

 

Be very careful if you go this route. As he said, if the JB Weld runs and gets into the threads you will not be able to get it out.

yes, try to drill it out, and then get one of our antennas. be sure to unscrew before going thru car wash!!

 

I used the flathead screwdriver portion of my Gerber to work it out.

 

I agree with these....they work very well on broken and stripped out screws.

 

Broke mine off this morning cleaning snow off, lol... You guys rock. Thanks for the tips on this subject.
