1st gen MPG

What type of mpg are you guys getting? mention engine size and any other mods that would affect.

I calculated my highway mpg a few days ago and its about 21mpg and I was pleased.(averaging 60-70mph) I have the 3.4L v6 automatic, 265/70/16 rugged trails, and everything else stock.

 

16 - 17 mpg, 3.4l, stock, except for a drop in AEM air filter.

On a good day, all hi -way miles might get 20 mpg.

 

I quit caring about gas mileage a loooong time ago Life is so much simpler now.

 

Yep. Sometimes I get up to 21, but that is when I use corn free fuel, which is widely available here in Okieland.

 

18 in the winter 20 in the summer. Supercharger, 3.4L and 265/70/17 Hankook Dynoport ATm's.

 

20.2 mpg for the past year or so.

mostly city/rural driving

V6, 5-speed

 

Right about 20mpg. 2.7L, auto, Prerunner.

I drive like there's an egg under the gas pedal, and almost never break 60. My commute is mostly highway, but mostly crappy in Chicago rush hour. Brand new Kumho Road Venture SAT KL61 31x10.50r15 at about 42psi. Just installed a Extang Trifecta. Ready to fab up a grille block and some kind of belly pan, at least for the front.

And my dad has a new tank of a crew cab F150 with that silly fast V6 turbo.

He's getting better mileage than me.

Its a 4cyl manual with 6" lift and 35's.
I get around 17-18 in the winter and 18-21 in the summer depending on driving.
Just had a highway trip for christmas and got 19.7, 18.8, 19.6, 18.0(last tank was headwinds and heading back over the mountains.)

New Belts, Plugs, Filter, and Seafoam and I was up to 23.5.

I drive like I have an underpowered 4banger...



2.7L 2WD Auto Xtra Cab on 31x10.5s

 

Getting about 16 right now. Going to seafoam it right before my oil change and see if it helps. Before everywhere switched to this winter gas I was getting 18-20

 

Getting 17/20mpg with my 2.7L 5 speed on 33X12.5 A/T's with stock 4.10 gears.

Average about 22-23 with a stock 3.4L V6 265/70/R17 GoodYear Wrangler P rating 99% Highway.

 

I average about 19MPG, with a summer-time high of about 21MPG and an winter-time low of about 16MPG. (They oxygenate our fuel during the winter months, to reduce pollution. Unfortunately, it also reduces horsepower and gas mileage.)

 

3.4 4x4 5 speed

18-19mpg 50/50 city highway, lots of long steep hills, don't drive efficiently

 

i average 18 with my 3.4 stick shift. 2 inch lift. 32 mud terrains. deck plate mod

 

23.5 pretty consistently in the summer, 21.5 in the winter. 2.7L manual 4x4 Xtra cab. Deck plate mod, K&N drop-in. Stock size tires.

 

...my mileage sucks especially in winter.
But I have a LOT of hills, not much flat ground.
3.4L 5-Speed with 33x12.50 running 4.10's. Almost 3" lift with heavy ass bumper, winch, tools, and sandbags.
15.7 mpg with 89 octane
After this tank I'm switching to 94 octane which is just 10% more expensive. If I can get over 2 more mpg (13% gain) it will be $ worth it.

 

3.4L, K&N intake, 265/75R16's

Last summer I towed a camper trailer from Sacramento CA to northern Washington State and back and got 18.5mpg. I mostly drove 60mph.

Other than that I usually get around 17-18, but most of my daily driving is commuting in traffic.

 

higher octane fuel does NOT give you better mileage. Just use what Toyota recommends for your truck (87 octane). Higher octane fuel is "harder" to ignite, the only reason you should be using higher octane is if you have high compression or forced induction (super charger) and your engine pings under load.
