painted sport rims black

Because my TRD Sport wheels were starting to look like crap from all of the scratches and blistering I decided to paint them.

this is how they looked this morning

all taped up and primed

how they looked after 3 coats of primer, three coats of paint and three coats of clear

done!

 

Did you use Flat or Gloss? I cant decide which would look better on a superwhite.

 

hmm please do not take this wrong and i am hopeing its just the picture but that 4th pic looks kinda rough ?

 

ya they looked pretty bad when they were wet. i used gloss black

 

Great job , silver and black wheels are a good combo

 

I think flat, that is what I am going with on my super white .

It took me a long time. The paint on the wheels was so bubbly it took a long time to sand them down. Also because I only have two jack stands i could only do two at a time. I’m still not sure if I like them, but I didn’t like them before. When I get new tires I’m going to find a set of 16's I like because 285 BFG ATs are about $50 cheaper for 16' wheels.

 

great improvement over the silver. If it were my truck I would opt for flat black

 

I like the black rims only if the tires are dressed. When the tyre is faded the combo looks terrible IMO.
