Au contraire! If the other (low) vehicle is stock and meets the NHTSA standards and you have lifted your truck to where it doersn't meet NHTSA standards it is entirely your fault and you can be cited if it causes the other driver to be blinded and wreck his vehicle.

In addition to the traffic citation, by operating a vehicle modified out of NHTSA standards you may be found to be personally liable for damages in a civil case if the other driver sues you. And since you modified your vehicle to where it doesn't meet the NHTSA standards for lighting, your auto insurance probaly won't cover you either, it will all be on you.

How about getting splashed by window washing fluid? Had this happen twice in the last few months for unknown reasons before catching on. In case you're not aware of it, people will pass you, move in front of you, and then hit their front or back washer fluid, resulting in the afterspray hitting your windshield. It's like they're spitting on your car with their car. Actually I may try it myself against a rude driver. Doesn't seem to be as offensive as flipping the bird, but clearly it could trigger a road rager.

My VW GTI had a rear window washer that I didn't use, so I pulled the spray nozzle out so it would spray straight back :D I never used it on anyone, but it made people laugh when I showed them. The car also had headlight washers that extended from the front bumper and the overspray would get everywhere.

Foglights are for fog, not oncoming traffic!
    Wrong twice in one post!
They are not 'perfectly legal' in many states....I spent too much time researching and citing this in another thread...don't have the time and patience to do it again.
Your fogs are useless unless you're looking for pennies in the gutter.
    Common misnomer.
I live in an area with lots of fog and they do nothing...except double the reflection off of wet pavement into oncoming drivers' eyes.

OK, well I share alot of the same issues. Im in Up-state NY, lots of back roads, but drive a main highway to work, 1 hr commute each way. I have a 3" Lift, & upgraded the headlights to Sylvania Ultra Brights, & just recently installed 55w Yellow Lamps into the Fog lights. Heres what I have to deal with... Had the headlights adjusted, still not good. I hit fog 2 nights ago, the yellow lamps enhanced the fog wicked bad & my low beams added to the mess. My highbeams with fogs off did the best, but sucked when dimmed. I have been adjusting the headlights myself, almost every other night it seems. I do not get flashed, anymore, I do light up the backs of low cars, thus staying back a bit further, controlling my Road Rage, LMAO. It now has started snowing & the best way for me too see in blinding blowing hard snow is to kill the fogs & run highbeams, not good for commute which is in pre-dawn & night returning home. IM FRUSTRATED AS ALL HELL! I'm not sure what to do... Change lamps in headlights back to normal stock? Switch Fogs back to white lamps? HELP>>>> Please, any suggestions?

I'm just gonna go with..............so many people have offensive bright shit whether pointed right or in "proper" fixtures oem equip or not, that I have done what I needed to do for me to see whether they are in facing me or behind me or in whatever weather. I have H7 Halogens in my low beam halogen projectors pointed correctly & I have 35w HIDs in my fogs that are pointed to fill in between halogen lows and front of truck. My halogen high beams light shit up a half mile away. There are no laws against using fog lights with lows here or cars wouldn't come with them wired to work that way or come with them from factory at all. Hate it all you want. If people don't like them they can go get something better than they have too. I am hardly the brightest lit vehicle and only lifted 1/2" up front from oem and lights were adjusted down further to compensate. I go at my own pace in my own space, I don't tailgate or react to whether I think people's lights are too bright or not. That usually pisses people off the most, when their asshattery has no effect, so I go with that. If they don't like it I use highs if they turn theirs on. I have tinted rear window so whatever on people behind me. They can change lanes, speed up or slow down or go around, be pissed off, play games or whatever. CHL CHL CHL

Had it happen again two days ago... Pulled up behind a Kia at a red light and the lady probably thought the lights were gonna burn her skin. She was holding her hand up to block her rear view mirror and kept looking back at my angrily

Once you start modding your truck, raising the headlights, putting in brighter bulbs you are going to blind people.

Expect people who get blinded by your behavior to be angry...you are putting their lives at risk by reducing their ability to see at night.

I drive unlit back roads every day and manage to see quite well with original lighting.

OP, people are not flashing you for your fog lights, like someone said earlier, people are flashing you because your truck is 6"+ over factory height AND likely lost its' factory rake. When I first leveled my truck with 5100's at 1.75" with nothing in the rear, I got flashed all the time from the loss of factory rake alone.

And earlier you stated that it's not your fault that you drive a lifted truck...whose fault is it?

It's everyone else's fault for driving tiny cars instead of badass tacos... No one in a taco has ever flipped me off or flashed me cause my light... So there you go not my fault

If you did have the headlights properly adjusted after the lift, what about your fogs? (Assuming they were on?) Fog lights need to be aimed too, but this often gets forgotten. "Leveling" a truck changes the headlight aim greatly, and the same goes for fog lights.

Or, perhaps you are pulling up closer behind these vehicles then they are comfortable with? Lifted trucks appear closer in a rear view mirror due to their height, maybe leaving a bit more space would help?

For those that think it's funny to blind people, don't you realize they're the voting population that can change the legality of lifting and modifying vehicles? A little consideration for others will help protect what's obviously important to you. My $.02
